A New You, Tuesday, Period Two
"Morning class," Fjord said as the students stepped into the danger shop to find that, yes, they were still in the sewers. Lucky class! "So, last time we met here, y'all fought a giant spider that can blink, and then you came across the kobolds building something in the cavern underneath the farmer's field. Turns out, what they were building had a purpose. And not a terribly nefarious one, either."
He lifted hs chin a little.
"Apparently, a bunch of gnolls have been using the sewer system to get into the kobolds' tunnels making their way to their rookery, and have been running off with their eggs, hatchlings, and anybody who has the misfortune of being watching them at the time. The sewers connect to cave systems, which connect in turn to mine shafts and other natural underground caverns further inland, and the kobolds spent a lot of time figuring out which places would be most effective for setting up traps and barriers to prevent the raids as much as they possibly can. Turns out, that metal construct they had been building under the field was supposed to be their first line of defense." Fjord spread his hands. "Turns out, your old buddy Shovels the Kobold knows Common. And the little guy is willing to negotiate peace between the kobolds and the town above... if you do something to stop the gnolls. So, what do you say? Protect some kobold kids? Go find the gnolls and deal with them yourselves? The attacks happen in the late hours of the night, so you've got some time to come up with a plan.
"What do you do?"

Or Beau just requested gnolls. One of those things.

You do you, okay?

“If we take out the gnolls — ” and the grimace that snuck through was Keyleth’s — “the kobolds will leave the farmers alone. I think it’s the best outcome we can get here.”

Talk to Fjord!
Re: Talk to Fjord!
Re: Talk to Fjord!
"Why have them travel above ground when I can make the students slog knee-deep in shit for a second week in a row, right?" Fjord smirked a little. "Teaches 'em... fortitude. Or something."
... He hadn't been able to program in a new location this morning.
Re: Talk to Fjord!
Re: Talk to Fjord!
Fjord gave a little chuckle at that, looking around the sewer and crossing his arms over his chest as he mulled it over. How was he not surprised by this?
"You know," he mused, "if nobody's making use of it through the noon hour, we could probably stick around, fight a few gnolls ourselves. I don't see any reason why the students should have all the fun today."
Re: Talk to Fjord!
Which she emphasized by cracking her knuckles.
Re: Talk to Fjord!
"And I haven't had a chance to swing my sword around since the whole... snowmen... thing," Fjord replied easily. "Which barely fuckin' counts."
At the end of the day, Eldritch Blast versus sentient snow wasn't much of a contest.
Re: Talk to Fjord!
Re: Talk to Fjord!
"They don't tend to hit back," Fjord mused. "I suppose the one downside here is that this room has safeties. Those gnolls couldn't hurt a fuckin' fly."
Most people didn't think that was a downside, Fjord.
Re: Talk to Fjord!
"Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh. It's better than nothing?" Try and sound a little more convincing, Beau. "I guess?"
Re: Talk to Fjord!
"I'll put in a request with the school administration for better gnolls," Fjord offered.
... That would not get them far.
Re: Talk to Fjord!
The way Beau was looking at him, it was a safe bet she didn't believe that either.
Re: Talk to Fjord!
"Figure I stand a better chance of getting it by asking than by wishing," he noted. "Even if you won't catch me holding my breath, either."
Re: Talk to Fjord!
Crit fail, Beauregard. Crit fail.
Re: Talk to Fjord!
And, you know, he had a baller CHA stat.
Re: Talk to Fjord!
As for example right now, because she'd set herself up for that one, hadn't she?
"You know what?" She brought both hands up to flip him off like the mature and level headed 22 year old she was.
Re: Talk to Fjord!
"Come on, Beau," he said, clearly amused, "let's go kill some fucking gnolls."
Talk to the TA!
OOC!
Good news is that I'm an animator on Care Bears now I guess? And also my tiny toddler nibling is out of the hospital and breathing with both lungs again, which is nice. So basically, I have a brain again!
