Life Lessons Through Screen Time, Friday

"We didn't bring you snacks again," Vanessa said, "but it's not because we're flakes, it's because we couldn't think of an appropriate snack for this show. Besides, like...sourdough."

"Also, we didn't want to," Wade added. "Because we refuseto support this show outside of the Mary Kate and Ashley fashion line. Maybe Scarlet Witch and her constantly changing accent too."

"And you can just forget Fuller House," Vanessa continued, like the students had the first clue what she was talking about. "Just give media where fundies are leads a pass, kids! That's your lesson for this week. That and...something about single parenting being so hard you need to move all your friends and relatives into your house to help."

"They were going for that non-traditional family vibe," Wade said. "Also, fun fact, Uncle Joey and I both dated the same woman."

There was a moment of silence, then Vanessa asked, "Oh! Was that a Canada joke?"

"Sure, we'll go with that."

"Anyway, today we're watching Full House a show about a bygone time when a normal family could allegedly afford a whole house in San Francisco."

Wade pushed play on ye old VHS player. Because no one should watch any of these shows on better technology than that. "Enjoy!"

Sidon had...actually started taking a few notes, during the set-up of the show today, jotting down all the references he didn't even remotely understand to look into later.

...as if that would help.

Oh, Sidon.

Cue the canned laughter and the goofy sliding trombone riff.
