Sonia wanders into the class, her arm now cleaned and bandaged thanks to [livejournal.com profile] _lily__evans, and finds a seat near the front. She pulls out a quill and prepares to take notes.

I sit down, open my notebook and begin taking notes, although I'm fidgeting and looking around some.

Charlie slips into a seat near the back and opens his notebook.

At the discussion question he raises his hand. "All reliable sources of water were vital to civilization, yeah? You coldn't have a city without a way to get water to the inhabitants."

Lisa makes several points from her prepared notes (http://web.bryant.edu/~langlois/ecology/gangeshistory.htm) and then listens attentively to the lecture.

*contributes little to the discussion but insisting that the river is important solely because humans are so petty they can't live without running water to dispose of things for them*

Ganges River is very important everything source to India. Water, Ritual rites and water burial for the dead. In fact, I read something about a breed of flesh eating turtles that they put in the water over there because they were only partially burning the dead on the funeral pyres, so like there was all these half corpses and stuff around. Well, these turtles go into the water and finish eating the corpses so they are not floating around in the water to disease it and stuff....*trails off*
