Class this week had been ~~handwavily~~ informed to bring with them clothes suitable for physical activity. When they met at Portalocity, their teachers would be there, Hannibal in a designer leather jacket, tailored jeans, and heavy silk shirt, and Jono... still in his usual leather jacket and jeans, because Jono was nothing if not predictable. At least they matched more this week?

"Welcome again," Hannibal said. "We thought we would start with something both active and interactive, an opportunity to experience nature and," he nodded at Prompto, "food and drink."

//This week, we're doing remote locations and unbeatable views,// Jono said, sounding fairly amused, because of course Hannibal had found a way to work food and drink into this nonsense. Honestly now. //We'll be heading to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, where some enterprising individual has set up ziplines.//

But then, of course Jono found a way to work in extreme vertigo, so they were probably even.

Hannibal was possibly smirking, just enough that Jono could tell. "If you're inclined to fly above the mountains on a thin line of wire at high speeds to see them, please feel free. If you would rather spend your time in the tavern, that is also an option." He'd paid the staff well enough for a private party and no checking of IDs.

//I'll be taking the ziplines,// Jono added, helpfully. Because taverns weren't exactly his deal these days. //Hannibal will be Team Tavern. Yes, you absolutely can start on the zipline and then head to the tavern when you're done.//

"Either way, we hope you will enjoy yourselves."

Take a zipline! Visit the tavern! Do both!

Was it a bad idea to visit the tavern and sample the drinks before going on the zipline? Probably, but Peebee wasn't one to be cautious, now, was she?

Hannibal was slightly surprised to see Peebee accompanying him, anyway.

"Will you be doing the zipline later, then?" She hadn't really struck him as the risk-averse type.

“Oh, this is a quick pit stop on my way over there, don’t you worry,” Peebee said cheerfully.

Which might have done the opposite of assuaging worries.

Hannibal chuckled. "They may not let you up if you're visibly intoxicated, just so you know."

People's choices were their own; he wasn't judging.

Ziplines? Ziplines. Yang was toooooooooooooooooooooootally going to hit those ziplines over and over, until she got thirsty enough to need a tavern break.

Was anyone shocked she was a total and complete adrenaline junkie?

A zipline was definitely one of those things that Prompto would spend almost the entire time getting to thinking it was a terrible idea and he was making a big mistake, and then spend the rest of the time afterwards bouncing off the wall to do it again. He might have even wimped out of it, too, if it weren't for two very strong prevailing factors:

1) There was no way he could live with himself if he wussed out on something Yang was so gung-ho about, and

2) He was totally getting pictures of this place while going down that zipline, because how could he not?

Hey, he could inexplicably manage to take pictures of himself in action in the middle of a battlefield. It made way more sense than that, really.

And, if anything, he felt tavern-time needed to be earned and not taken for granted.

Oh, Vette was making a beeline for that zipline, yes. How could she not? She hadn't had a good bout of controlled recklessness in what felt like forever but was probably more like a week or two, and doing the zipline thing very nearly made up for that.

Very nearly.

Nell wasn't planning to drink anything alcoholic, but she wasn't sure that flying down over the countryside with only a thin wire for support was something she wanted to do.

Hannibal smiled at her. "Welcome, Nell. Shall we enjoy the scenery outside and wait for the others?"

Nell smiled at him shyly, but remained a little wary. "That would be nice, sir. It's awful beautiful here, isn't it?"

"It is," Hannibal agreed. "Would you like some food or drink? The school is paying for it."

"If it ain't -" she stopped herself. "If it's not too much trouble. M'afraid I'm not a real thrill-seeker or anything."

"Not at all," Hannibal said. "That's one reason we offered this option." He stepped up to the bar and got a menu, bringing it back for her. "We want to allow you all to explore these places on your terms."

Nell perused the menu intently. Menus weren't exactly commonplace in her life and she was fascinated by all the food items and their ingredients. Some of them she'd never even heard of.

She was so fascinated by them that she forgot she was supposed to be thinking of something to order.

Hannibal let her read, smiling. "We'll have to visit someplace with interesting food, won't we?"

Not that he hadn't already been planning that.

Hannibal is here. Possibly staying late so he can zipline, too.

Jono is also here. And absolutely riding those ziplines more than once like the dumbass adrenaline junkie who really misses being able to fly that he is.
