Make It Fashion- Tuesday- 1st period

It was New Year's freaking Day and Brooke had a first period class, and she was maybe wondering if she was in hell a little bit.

But she was pulling it together! And she was double fisting coffee when she had the students meet her over at the causeway. Don't judge, children, you'd know this life too someday, possibly.

"Good morning, and welcome to Make It Fashion," she said. "In this class you're going to learn how to make your own clothes from someone with a successful fashion line that she started in high school. That would be me. Brooke. Ms. Davis. I don't care. Today we're going to start off by going to a fabric shop that's actually open, and you're going to buy ten fabrics that you like and will be using in class. We'll go back midway through the semester so if you miss out on something, don't worry."

Mae wandered through the store for awhile, keeping an eye out for anyone looking at her funny the way Sidon predicted they would.

Oh, and also looking at fabrics some. She did a little of that, too.

Prompto had to laugh a little as he was set loose on the fabric store. This was definitely an Iggy class, like his cooking class last semester, but he definitely wasn't going to complain. It could be kind of cool, being able to make his own clothes, though he was feeling, as he looked around at all the fabrics, that he might not be very good at bringing what he had in mind into actual things when it came to cloth and thread like he could with metal and bolts, but they couldn't be that much different, right?

"Okay, now that you've got your stuff, who are you, and why'd you pick the fabrics you did?" Brooke asked.

You didn't need to get too into it. She didn't actually want you to get too into it.

"Hi, I'm Mae Borowski," Mae said. "And, uh. These looked comfortable."

She'd picked a variety of jersey knits in earth tones, and some black denim. And a pirate printed quilting fabric with skulls on it. Mae's ideas about fashion were probably not everyone's ideas about fashion, no.

"Valid reason. If you're not comfortable in it, you're probably not going to wear it."

Well, that was true for other people. You would be amazed at Brooke's shoe closet.

"Definitely," Mae said. "My favorite clothes are the kind I can forget I'm wearing."

Not that Mae was a nudist or anything. She just liked wearing simple, unrestrictive outfits. Function way, way over form.

At first, ten sounded like a lot. But then Prompto got started, and ten seemed like...soooo not enough.

"I'm Prompto Argentum," he flicked a little peace-sign wave in the air, since it was kind of becoming, like, a trademark or something, and flashed a little extra crookedness into his smile, because, hey, the teacher was kind of cute, so what? "And I tried to go for a good variety in textures." Some denim, some cotton, some faux leather, and flannel, something soft and satiny. "Mostly black, that's the official Lucian royal color, but also some blues," because some stupid gremlin bit prince said he'd looked good in it, shut up, "and some reds, because, hey, I love showing my pride and everything, but black can be so...booooring!"

"This is very true!" Brooke said. "Why stick yourself in one style box?"

Please don't talk to Brooke. Her head hurts.

I was going to spend today packing up to move a month from tomorrow and now I'm doing that but while sick!
