Adulting 101- Monday- 2nd period

The class was being held in a normal classroom today, because it was the start of a new semester and also a holiday and so there.

"Morning, everybody," Kitty greeted them. "My name's Kitty Pryde-Barton, and I don't really care what you call me, I answer to just about anything. So every once in a while I do this class, because I figure it's important for you to have some life skills when you get out into the world. I went to a boarding school sort of like this at your age, and then I went to college and all of a sudden it's bills and needing to get a job and place to live, and then you get older and it's about running things, and now I'm responsible for a whole new human life and what's up with that and I'm maybe getting ahead of myself. Anyway, there are some basic skills you should have when you're on your own, so that's what you're here to learn.

"The first week tends to be easy, so I want to know who you are, where you're from, and then we're going to talk a little. Let's start with you."

"Since we're a smaller class, I want to know about you guys," Kitty said. "Specifically, is there anything in particular you want to learn? Not that I'm advocating knowing exactly what you want to do in high school or anything, but is there anything in your future that you want to be prepared for?"

"Um, I still can't believe older me has an Accounting degree, does that count?" Bobby wondered.

"Yep! Do you know how you'd even go about getting one of those?" Kitty asked.

"A lot more school than I ever thought I'd need," Bobby said dryly. He was pretty sure he didn't want to just follow in his older self's footsteps, but that didn't mean he knew what he wanted to do instead.

He also very pointedly wasn't thinking about the very real possibility that he wouldn't be staying here in the future forever.

Norman chewed his lip for a moment, looking thoughtful.

"Well, I guess it couldn't hurt to get some insight on applying to colleges, or if it's even really worthwhile...? I've heard mixed opinions on that sort of thing."

Mostly on the internet.

"We'll definitely cover that some," Kitty promised. "Any particular field you're thinking of so far?"

Norman hesitated for a moment, a little at a loss.

"Maybe... picking a field could also be part of the lesson," he replied, sheepishly.

No, Kitty probably doesn't know why the vacuum exploded when you used it, Beaker.
