The Circle of Life, Monday Third Period

"Okay," Vanessa said, "let's talk about Hallmark Christmas movies!" What did that have to do with anything this class was supposed to be about, you might well be wondering? Well, the answer was nothing, but look at your teachers. Look at them. What did you expect?

"We watched so many of them," Wade added, spreading his hands out as though to illustrate the amount. "And... you could learn valuable life lessons from them. Yeah. Yeah."

If it sounded like he just came up with that on the spot...

"Important life lessons like, um." Vanessa had nothing. "Well, why don't we watch some Hallmark Christmas movies, and you guys can tell us what you learned?" That sounded reasonable.

"They're better with alcohol," Wade whispered in a way that wasn't a whisper in the slightest.

"Not that we have any...for you...but if you brought your own we promise to look the other way." They were great at this teaching thing. "So...should we watch something with royalty or something with a quaint small hometown?"

Wade took a moment to dig for a coin, flip said coin, lose said coin under the desk and then just shrug. "Let's go royalty. I brought my flask."

"Royalty it is!" Vanessa declared, selecting a movie from the Netflix menu and hitting play. "Remember, watch for the life lessons!"
