Bad Ass Bitch Survival Guide; Tuesday, Second Period [11/27].

Even in light of spending more of her day yesterday trying to figure out what to do for her class today since last week was a total bust and she didn't get around to organizing what she originally wanted to do, Rosa was still feeling a little at a loss and was probably phoning it in a little this week, but, hey, she'd managed to actually pull together a few legitimate classes that took a lot of planning and shit, so she figured she was still trending upward for the semester as a whole. She hadn't even wanted to do this, and her class turned out awesome, so, whatever, she was just going to do what she wanted.

So the class would be directed to the gym again this week, which she figured might be a subtle lesson in disappointment, because that meant they probably figured they'd be doing something fight-y again, but they weren't. In fact, the whole point was that they weren't doing anything fight-y.

"So," she started, deciding not to even address last week's treatment of the 'substitute teacher,' because she didn't want these kids thinking they'd actually impressed her and possibly inspired her to line up more subs for future classes just to challenge them to mess with them in various different ways. "Important part of survival is stress relief, because when you're all messed up and worried or stressed out, you don't think straight, you're not focused, you mess up. There's a lot of different forms of stress relief, some of which we've already covered,"--the fight-y stuff, she was talking about the fight-y stuff, "but sometimes, you're in a situation where you're just not going to be able to kick someone's head in, no matter how much they deserve it. So you have to channel that energy somewhere else. Personally, I like yoga.

"It also helps that yoga helps keep you limber and flexible, which has...many other benefits in...soooo many aspects of life."

Benefits she would not list here in class, because many of them were inappropriate for a school setting, despite the fact that she'd literally covered some of them in this class itself.

"In the West, when someone mentions yoga, they're usually referring to hatha yoga, which is just one branch of yoga, that involves a series of physical positions and breathing techniques as a sort of meditative process. Good for physical health and mental health. It's not going to be for everyone, either, and that's fine, too, but I"m just going to teach you few popular yoga techniques. Take it or leave it. I really don't care."

Huh. This was similar to some of the forms Lana knew, though not precisely the same.

The concept of letting go of those negative emotions seemed rather odd, though.

Vette was beginning to suspect that maybe the teachers were trying to tell her in particular something about appropriate stress relief practices. But, whatever, fine. She was a limber little thing, she would sit herself down and see just what kind of pretzels she could contort herself into for a while.

. . . yeah, Peebee actually was doing the half assed nap pose. She'd gotten all caught up in a new project a couple of days ago and hadn't exactly slept since. Whoops?

This may be the first activity where Sabine's armor might be an issue.

Not that she was taking it off. No, this just became a challenge.

"No," Paris said. "Being tense helps me have lightning fast reflexes."

That's also the caffeine.

Aw yeah, it was totally warm-up stretching for when you were going to be sparring or heading out looking for a fight!

Yang was limber, ridiculously in shape, acrobatic, and liked to make physics cry. You bet she was going through everything Rosa showed them, and trying to push herself more as she got going. If she wasn't feeling loose by the end of the class, she was doing it wrong.

Lana could do the poses - she was good at remembering them and she was used to this sort of thing.

Her yoga probably looked a bit intense, though. She was less "letting go of" any stress she felt, and more "calling it up and channeling it into the moves".
