Hannibal had had an interesting week or so. Not terrible, but frustrating in several ways. And while he wasn't going to take it out on his students...entirely...he wasn't above indulging in a bit of amusement.

At least he had, in exchange, made plenty of food?

"Tomorrow is a holiday in the United States," he began, "which is the country that Fandom is nominally a part of. Thanksgiving is traditionally celebrated by eating a large meal, of which the centerpiece is a turkey - a large bird. Today you'll be cooking your own, in a manner that has recently become popular. Specifically, deep frying."

He beamed at them. "Use any recipe you like; I'm sure you can find any number online, and I'm happy to answer any questions you may have. You may also want to look up some of the problems inherent in using this method of cooking. Whatever you cook, you may bring home with you, along with leftovers from our meal today."

Which would be a meal. "Once you've set up your turkey to cook, I hope you will join me for that."

Off to one side was an entire dining table, and Hannibal brought out roast turkey with black truffle butter and white wine gravy; apple, sage, and sausage stuffing; spicy sweet potato cakes, brussels sprouts with horseradish and pomegranate seeds, green bean and radish salad, brandied spiced cranberry sauce, cream biscuits, and a rum and dried fruit clafoutis for dessert, along with tea and coffee.

... It was possible that there was a third helping of those sprouts in store for Vette.

Mmmmm, horseradish.

It was possible that some of the items were chosen specifically for their spice level. Hannibal nodded at her. "Please, take as much home as you like. I've made plenty for everyone."

"I'm going to need the recipe for these thingies," Vette said, and then ate another sprout, happily.

Hannibal nodded, smiling. "Of course. You'll have to tell me how you end up adjusting them."

That faint groan slipping out of Prompto out of all that food? Yeah. He couldn't help it. Of course this place would have a holiday revolving around food when he was really trying to dig his heels into being good

But of course he'd have to try everything. He could be good...tomorrow. This didn't have to count, this was for school. And it was a holiday! He'd be good tomorrow.

"You needn't eat it all here," Hannibal pointed out at that groan. "Take it home with you and parcel it out."

Fry your turkey!

Hannibal peered over and saw what she was researching; he couldn't quite read Aurebesh, though he'd puzzled out a little, but the pictures were a dead giveaway.

"You're aware the object is to make something edible?" he checked, amused.

"Sometimes," Vette said, taking on a lofty tone, "you have to make the big mistakes, just to really understand why you shouldn't."

Hannibal chuckled. "In that case, by all means. But I'd suggest using one of this room's constructs - or several - before your actual turkey. Unless you also enjoy eating burnt food?" For all he knew, she did.

"Depends on the food," Vette decided. "I think I'll destroy a few fake turkeys before getting to the meat of the lesson, though. I wouldn't mind having a little something of my own to take back with me, anyway."

Hannibal nodded again. "In that case, I wish you the best."

It wasn't like she could actually get hurt in the Danger Shop, and she didn't even have eyebrows to singe.

Deep. Fried. Turkey.

Well, Prompto didn't really know what a turkey was, some sort of bird, obviously, but deep fried anything was...

...bad. Very bad. But this was gonna be legit, too. And he was going to try to remember this one, too, see if he can convince Iggy to try doing something like this with daggerquill or chickatrice.
