Heedless of the robot babies, your teachers today were dressed up in leather. Which, actually, wasn't that out of sorts for them. But this time they were both also wearing sunglasses. Which was slightly different.

"Wait, am I good cop or bad cop? Or are we playing aloof cop too?" Magnus whispered.

Some small part of Cara that was always going to be Mord'Sith was dying right now. "You're good cop," Cara replied, her tone indicating that should have been obvious

Shhh. Shhh, Mord'Sith part. Just accept the tender love of found family from a joke D&D podcast.

"Fine, but I'm three days from retirement if I'm good cop and my sciatica is acting up," Magnus decided with a firm nod. "And we can trade off for weekends."

"Oookaaaay..." Magnus would find remarkably little argument there.

"So it's time to live the buddy cop dream!" Magnus said, smacking the control panel on the danger shop to bring up car chases, cool shoot outside, and an explosion to walk away from all cool like.

And, some how, they all had a fuzzy 70s movie look to them.

"Find a partner and decide who's 'three days from retirement' and who's 'a rookie on the edge'." You could hear the finger quotes.

Prompto would be the rookie on the edge even after he'd been a daemon hunting member of the Crownsguard for ten whole years...

...so this should be interesting. And partnering up was always fun! He even tried to make it not too obvious that he was trying to catch a certain other blonde's eye to find a good moment to maybe oh-so-casually suggest that they had made a pretty good partnership against pinatas in this class anyway...

Yes, Yang had a robo-baby in a sling across her back. No, she didn't seem to be concerned about taking a baby -- of any type -- into car chases and explosions. What? From what she knew about her mom, it was something Raven had probably done with her more than once before taking off.

"Get in, I'm driving."

Yes, with the baby.

Yes! Those words were like music, even better than Prompto could have hoped for, really. And, normally, he would have been all for it and jumped right in without a single question. He mostly did, really, laughing to join her, but, still, he couldn't help at least one question.

"Wait, is that a baby?"

"Ethics gave us robot-babies to, like, teach us something?" Yang laughed, undoing the sling and handing Ruby 2.0 to Prompto. "I mean, pretty sure I learned my lessons -- whatever they were -- raising my sister, so I can't do worse with a robot!"

Unlike certain of his classmates, Theron did not make having a droid baby in a sling look particularly cool.

Good cop, bad cop the perp!

Explain yourselves to the chief!

Walk away from explosions!

They're cool.
