"The dish known as a baked Alaska combines both cold," he brought out his own lovely concoction, "and hot." He set rum at the top aflame and poured more over it, the fire running down the sides.

"Please do attempt not to set anything else on fire. This is not Karla's class."

He adored you, Karla, but you were never working in his kitchen.

The fire burned itself out, and he sliced the dessert to serve. "Please let me know if you have any questions while making your own."

Hannibal smirked. "If you keep lighting it on fire, it will be too burnt to eat. Also you'll be wasting good alcohol. But I'll keep in mind for the future that flambéed foods are a preference."

Uhh, yeah. Food you set on fire. Prompto was definitely going to be making sure he got this one right today, because it was food you set on fire. And he would want to make it again at some point, no question about it, and he would like to do so without setting everything else on fire while he was at it, too.

And, sure enough, since Prompto did manage to focus and pay attention to what he was doing, he was able to do a pretty good job...

...even if he looked incredibly pained and winced for each and every egg he had to crack.

Poor Eggbert....s.

Well, that was an interesting reaction. "You have a problem with eating eggs?" Hannibal asked.

Prompto looked up from the yolks with a completely withering look.

"We had egg babies last week in my Circle of Life class," he had to tilt his head back to the tell the story, it was just too emotional for eye contact. "That was the life part, but then the circle always goes to Death, and..."

His sigh was indeed heavy. "Eggricide. An egg massacre. And we couldn't even make them into omelettes!"

Hannibal did his best to look properly grave at the theatrics. And to avoid making a joke about the taste of one's children; that would probably be in poor taste.

"It must be terribly traumatic for you. Will you be able to set their remains on fire as required?"

Look, it'd been stuck in his head all over again since Deadpool earwormed the class all over again, and he actually really did like the song, too.

Hannibal gave him a pained look for the singing. "We all go from eating to being eaten eventually," he said. "These eggs just arrive at that somewhat sooner."
