"Today," Hannibal announced, "we are switching gears. So far we've been doing savory foods; now we will be cooking sweets. Specifically," he uncovered his own, "chocolate-covered marshmallow cookies. You will be making the cookies, the marshmallows, and the chocolate dip. You will find all the ingredients at your stations, along with various colors of luster dust and a few sprinkles and such, should you wish."

He waved them toward his own versions. "Please, sample as you like, and then make your own."

Taste Hannibal's food!

You had Prompto at sweets, Dr. L, and there was no small amount of bouncing in anticipation when the treats were revealed before he got to try one for himself. For educational purposes, of course. Just something he had to do for the sake of the assignment! What a rough life. What a rough class!

Well, to be fair, it was kind of rough keeping himself from sampling more than a few, but he forced himself to focus on the task at hand, instead.

As with everything else, Vette sampled these sweets with a bit of an air of caution.

And then took a couple extra for later.

Make your own cookies! You've got the recipes, ingredients, and decorative items.

Sabine could make the cookie just fine.

She was also going to take her time with the decorating, making it as colorful as possible, which should really shock absolutely no one at this point.

"It's a pleasant change to have a student who understands the importance of presentation," Hannibal noted as he examined her work.

You give a man sprinkles, Hannibal, the man's gonna use the crap out of those sprinkles.

There were cookies and marshmallows under those sprinkles, honest. Sure, the cookies were a little underdone and the marshmallow not as fluffy as he'd like, but what he lacked in finesse, he made up for in sprinkles.

...and the mess that was his work station.

Hannibal looked at the sweets that Prompto had made. "You might consider using a more spare application of the decorations," he said. He cut into one of the cookies, then teased out a bit of the center. "I would advise whipping the marshmallows longer, and cooking them a little longer as well."

He looked up at Prompto. "Take your time. Don't rush your cooking. You've got the ingredients right, and the taste isn't bad, but you don't need to hurry."

Vette had said a few weeks ago that she could follow instructions like a champ. This week, she was making a point to prove that was the case, following the guidelines on her tablet to the letter.

And then glancing toward the spice cabinets and wondering idly if she could find the stuff that had made the hot chocolate 'Mexican' the other day...

"Your ingredients look very good, Vette," Hannibal said, nodding his approval. "Are you ready to begin assembling them?"

"I might be," Vette said, looking them over, and then frowning thoughtfully for a moment before venturing, "There was a thing I tried the other day. It was called a Mexican hot chocolate. Is that something that can be applied to this, too?"

Hannibal smiled. "It is." He went to the spice cabinet. "There are a number of spices you can add to chocolate. Cinnamon is usual for this." He took that and set the jar down on the counter. "Others such as nutmeg and allspice are sometimes added." He set those a little away from the cinnamon. "After that, some variety of pepper to give it its heat. The most commonly available is cayenne." He set that down, too, off to one side.

"For the amount of chocolate you have here, you will likely need very little of these. I would suggest mixing the spices themselves to find a blend you enjoy, then very slowly adding it to the chocolate, tasting as you go."

Poor Hannibal.

"Great! That's just what I need, thanks!"

Vette was going to invest herself in this one. And she was totally going to share with Hera later, too, as thanks for the datapad hacking.

Hannibal's mouth would live. Eventually.

And he'd remember twi'lek tastes from here on out (not like that).

"You're quite welcome. I look forward to seeing what you come up with."
