Grissom gives a lecture on ~~Detention~~ The Prison System

Discussion: The United States has 486 prisoners per 100,000 of population, the highest ratio of developed nations. Does this surprise you? Why or why not?

Sociology of the Paranormal

Grissom gives a lecture on apparitions, of the paranormal, spiritual, and supernatural nature.

Homework: Now that we've discussed thoughts on the afterlife, and various religious practices, I'd like you to prepare a report on a sighting of an apparition for Wednesday. It can be a personal experience, a report on a friend's experience, or a mainstream historical or religious event.

Peter signed in and pondered how much he personally had contributed to those statistics.

He didn't have much to say today, though, because he was nervous about going to the clinic shortly.

Bel signed in.

"There are a lot of demons in the United States," Bel said. "They organize human crime and gangs and a lot of times don't care when humans get caught, so they let them rot in prison."

Phoebe signs in and takes extensive notes on the lecture.

She idly wonders how many of those numbers would change if some of those were demons...

Veronica didn't need to take notes since she already had a pretty good handle on how the prison system worked.

"It doesn't surprise me at all," she said.

Draco signed in a took notes. Even though he was very familiar with prison, his father was there after all he noticed that the muggle system was a lot different than Azkaban.

"I can't believe it's up that high." Draco says "In my world there isn't very many people in our prison. Of course Azkaban is very strict and only extreme cases get sent there."

Piper signs in and takes a lot of notes.

"I'm really not surprised," she said simply. "Seems like the United States is more violent for some reason."

Aeryn signs in. And she's really just not going to say much.

Bel signs in and works on his report. He's seen a lot of ghosts in his time, so decisions, decisions.

Jake signs in and wonders in mutants that can go invisible counts.

Lana signs in and listens to the lecture, carefully *not* looking at where Shep used to sit.

Phoebe signs in and sits next to lana, then proceeds to make notes on a report.

Lana smiles at her a little sadly. "Thanks for sitting with me," she says quietly.

Paige signs in, ghosts are actually one of the few things she's not seen since she came here.

Marty signs in and wonders if it would be okay for him to write about Angela's experiences or if she wants to bring them up in front of class.

Angela signs in. If Marty asked, she would tell him he can write about anything she's told him about except the girl at the Watcher's HQ, because she's presenting that one.

But she cannot read minds, so she doesn't tell him this. Woe.

Marty can't read minds either. He does however realize that he can ask Angela permission, so he leans close to her and whispers: "Hey, can I interview you later about one of your ghost experiences?"

Angela nodded. "Sure. I should be around tonight," she whispered.

Piper signs and listens to the lecture. She's seen a lot of weird things, but a ghost isn't one of them.

Jaye signs in. And wonders if talking animals count as apparitions. Or if they're just hallucinations. Hm.

Rose signs in and recalls an experience from her travels with the Doctor that would make a great report.

Stark signs in and considers which apparition would make for the best story. He's seen more than enough, after all.

Broots signs in and considers the various ghost stories he knows.

Mac signs in and starts brainstorming ideas for her report
