"Well," said Amaya, grinning faintly once the students arrived at the site, which looked not at all like a site anymore at all, but a nearly finished building, "here we are, the last class ~~I think??~~. And I will say, you guys were really great. I hope, if anything, it wasn't a bad way to spend your summer and that you've learned at least a little something, whether you wind up using it or not. I sort of spent the last week picking up all the little things here and there, so there really isn't much to do today. I'm gonna have you guys walk through an end-of-construction checklist to work as sort of a review, and when you're finished, head on up to the roof, where we'll spend the rest of the class enjoying the time-honored tradition of the Lunch Break."

She grinned a little again, and began to hand out the checklists. "Any questions, I'll be on the roof. But hopefully everything checks, and I'll meet you guys up there to shoot the crap and eat some food. Thanks for all your hard work this summer; it's been really great."

Not too bad, right? Just be glad Amaya decided not to follow through on the first idea she'd briefly had, which was to have them all help her start moving her things across town to the new apartment. Sure, Amaya didn't have much stuff in general...but she did have a lot of weapons.

You have a list and a building, so take a moment to go through a basic check of those little details to make sure everything is a-okay.

Okay, Norman was going to start with the outside first, since it was at the top of the list. First up, foundation...

He looked around for a garden hose. He intended to be thorough about this.

Once you're review of the building is done, come on up to the roof, where Amaya rigged up a little tarp for some shade and a few fans to chase away some of the summer heat so everyone can just sit around, grab some food and something to drink, and shoot the shit.

"Obviously," Amaya offered, handing out tin lunch pails that, no, she did not make herself, with a few ~~moddable~~ food options that she hoped would suit any diet, "this sort of thing happens in the middle of a long construction day, when it's time to refuel and rest up before continuing on with more work through the slog of the afternoon. But we're obviously going to just use it as a way to celebrate our hard work and just enjoy that satisfaction that comes with a job well done. Good work, you guys. I really mean it."

Norman had learned a lot over the course of the summer. Heck, he even kind of felt like he had some kind of practical life experience behind him for after graduation. Not that he was sure he was going to leap into construction or anything, but if he couldn't make a living talking to ghosts, he was going to need something to fall back on.

He smiled a little as he sat himself down in the shade and went through the contents of his lunch pail, pulling out a juice box. Yeah, that had been satisfying.

Of course she's there! She pretty much lives here now!

And, yes, she did pack her own lunchbox, it was the one with all the meat in it.

I am so, so bad with schedules.
