Anakin stood with his normal megaphone, looking uncomfortable. "Right, so let's never talk about the fish again, agreed? Great. Moving on!" He gestured to the blazing campfire in the center of the camp, surrounded by some half-completed new cabins. "Today we will not have any form of competition, we'll just enjoy the good parts of camping, which, in my recollection, was campfire food and telling ghost stories. It's daytime, so the stories can't be that atmospheric, but I'm sure with as many multiverses as we have represented here, there are at least six version of the guy with the hook story. Plus enough marshmallows to put you all into a sugar coma. If you do, don't blame me."

He clapped his hands. "Right. It's summer. Have fun."

The vendors have kicked in with food that cooks well on sticks. You...just have to go find a stick. We're not doing everything for you.

Steve found a stick and had put four hot dogs onto it. Totally normal amount of hot dogs, yes. Totally normal.

Kanan wasn't completely certain he wasn't going to get tackled by half the people Kaidan knew on the island today, but he was making an appearance regardless, with his dog in tow.

Possibly as a buffer. Throw Stance at people and run if it came to it? Seemed like a solid plan to him.

"Hey." Peter saw him and waved. "Did you get my phone message yet?"

"Peter, hey," Kanan said, nodding over at him. "Got it just fine. Is Kaidan really setting people loose on me with demands for cupcake deliveries, now?"

Peter laughed. "More that I swore I'd do it because I had no idea what else to do. You sounded fine on radio, you look fine to me, if you've got a beef with him, that's up to the two of you to work it out, right?"

"Kaidan can't live without his meddling, I guess," Kanan said, smiling wryly. "I'm fine enough. Appreciate the whole... cupcake... thing. But I'm fine, buddy. No need to worry about me."

Well. He was 'fine.' But at least he was excellent at compartmentalizing.

"Okay, I won't bring cupcakes to movie night, then," Peter said, grinning. "Here I was going to do something special for the week."

"Hey, hey, you don't have to do anything hasty," Kanan chuckled. "How could you deny everybody else the cupcakes?"

"Well, I'd mostly be bringing them for you, and if you don't want them..." Peter grinned. "Last week of the semester. Any special requests?"

"Not Space Battles," Kanan replied immediately.

... That was more important than cupcake flavors. Don't judge him.

"No more Space Battles," Peter promised. "Anything else?"

"Something brainless," he decided. "And preferably non-traumatic. Maybe nobody even dies in it. I could get behind something like that. Hell, give us a comedy."

Hell, give them a rom com.

Peter nodded. "I'll see what I can find."

They were going to end up with something with so many pop-culture references that nobody would understand it and so gooey that Amaya would hate it.

It would be great.

"I appreciate it, buddy," Kanan said, smiling and reaching to clap Peter on the shoulder. "I'm sure I won't even be the only one who'll appreciate a little bit of fluff this week."

"Probably not." Peter nodded. "I'm thinking of keeping on with this. Think you'll keep coming?"

"Whenever I can," Kanan agreed. "I've missed our movie nights, this makes a decent enough substitute. And hell, you meet some interesting people there, too."

Hell, he'd commissioned a sword, there.

"Yeah," Peter agreed. "Hopefully we can stay away from the traumatic stuff from now on."

Spoiler: they wouldn't.

Rey found some food- taking advantage of that while she could, and found a seat. She was also very interested in this hook story.

"Okay but why did the fish turn evil?" Brooke asked to anyone who'd listen. She'd missed so much!

"I think it hated all the things we did to it?" Miguel answered. "Hard to be too sure."

"Some people were nice to it!" she pointed out. "I would have given it an outfit."

Miguel shrugged. "I don't think it cared. We enhanced it, didn't do anything nasty. It just used that to attack us."

Seriously, he was never drinking pumpkin spice, ever.

"It would have been a really cute outfit," Brooke insisted.

"Maybe that would've saved us," Miguel said. "Who knows?"

Miguel found a stick, hoped it wasn't poisonous or anything, and speared a couple hot dogs and marshmallows on it.

You don't have to make your own instruments this time! But if you're that guy that travels with a guitar just in case, now is you time to shine!

"Meep meep meep meep meep meep meep meep--"

Everybody! If you could figure out what the heck Beaker was singing...

Rey frowned, and after a moment started softly singing along, "Meep meep meep..."

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em, right?

"Meep meep meep meep!" Beaker sang enthusiastically.

...not ones about being lost in the woods surrounded by memories of your childhood. Anything else.

"I could probably make it dark, if it'd help?" Peter offered.

"Thanks but I think we've probably had enough surprises for this week," Anakin said. "I don't want to spring anything unexpected on people."

"Good point." Peter nodded. "Maybe we should skip the scary stories, then? Unless they're the not-really-scary type."

"I think most of the stories told around campfires were intended to scare 10 year olds, so that's probably the ones people know. I'll listen in to be sure, though." He smiled wryly. "Nothing about fish."

Peter laughed a little. "Never would have thought that needed to be said."

Whee! Thank you for making the summer shenanigans so amazing, guys!

I loved this summer SO MUCH and will be sad to see the shenanigans go. <3 It was organized so well, and gave plenty of excuses to get characters out and interacting with other characters they might not have interacted with otherwise. Thank you so much for that!
