Fun with Magic | Monday, 2nd period

Class today was to meet in the Danger Shop. When they arrived, the place was set up to resemble a soothingly lit living room, with cushions and chairs and beanbags everywhere.

"I very much doubt some of you are in the mood for much exertion today, so - enjoy a less strenuous form of magic."

He gestured toward the middle of the room, where there were large and small bubbles of light. "Swirl these, bat them around, look into them - they're like floating kaleidoscopes." Or lava lamps, but none of Bob's owners had been so plebeian as to have one of those. "Enjoy."

Picture, like, the Labyrinth ballroom, but in soothing shades and with fewer obnoxious courtiers. Bat the bubbles around, stare into them, whatever.

Though Sidon was still feeling some lingering betrayal at the turn of the fish, he had truly come to terms with the fact than, honestly, he wasn't surprised. How much could one mechanical creature take before it snapped? It made him think to the Divine Beasts back home, of how the Calamity infected them, of what Norman described when they visited Vah Ruta that final night in Hyrule, and he shuddered.

So, yes. Though he could have no ill thought toward his poor and mistreated fish-brother, he was more than happy to forget about it for a little bit with something as comforting and familiar to him as bubbles, especially in a world that could truly use far more bubbles.

Jason was more or less fine, physically, after whatever the fuck yesterday was, but yeah. No exertion sounded like a good plan.

So he found a beanbag, flopped down in to it, and batted lazily at any of the bubbles that came close enough.

Norman wasn't completely certain today wouldn't turn into another teaching opportunity, but he was finding that he didn't actually mind all that much.

He was absolutely looking at some of the glowing things in the room and trying to replicate them for himself using the 'making light' trick that Bob had showed him, so that he could push that light around instead.

Today was absolutely a teaching opportunity. Mostly for seeing what Norman had learned in the past and how he was combining and refining it. Bob watched and nodded.
