"I have been informed that it's not a real camp experience if there isn't some sort of singalong," Anakin shouted through the megaphone, "so today you will be creating your own instruments using shoe boxes, rubber bands, craft sticks, and so on, and then you will engage in singing various camp songs. I have helpfully printed out the words because my galaxy doesn't sing about your ears hanging low."

He waved his hand and the fish--now moving more sluggishly thanks to being frozen for three days--came flying back to his hand. "Whoever ticks me off the most during the singalong gets the fish," he threatened.

The vendors have provided camp-type foods today, heavy on the hot dogs.

Kaidan showed up, heard the directions, and stared at Anakin in befuddlement.

Then he went to find caffeine. Lots and lots of caffeine. There wasn't coffee, but there was cola, and that would do. He found a cup practically big enough to bathe in and filled it.

Alright, so far, Kanan had managed to avoid the fish. This was doable. This was totally survivable. He'd just come in, sing his piece - ahahaha shit - and leave again.

Maybe he'd start with a hot dog and then try to figure out what to do about this situation. Yeah.

Early as usual, Astrid found a good spot to sketch a little before everything got underway and maybe to have a hot dog. She wasn't even that hungry, but it just seemed like the vendors and the universe were trying to push that narrative, and who was she to argue?

Once the activity was announced, though, she had to snort, because this was going to get...interesting, yeah.

Kitty had avoided signing up for this since there were certain things she couldn't do, so she could just show up to this stuff and watch and enjoy it. It was great.

You did not know how relieved Rey was to not have that fish anymore. She looked as if a weight was lifted off of her when it wasn't in her possession anymore. The grass looked greener, birds sang sweeter, life felt a little more worth living.

...Oh, sure, the one week Amaya missed out on one of these activities, it had been cutting things with a construction flavor to it, and then she finally gets back and it's...this?

...at least the availability of corndogs made her feelings of bad luck and poor timing a little bit better. And technically, they would be building things, even if those things were for music, and she was pretty sure she didn't have a musical bone in her whole body.

Liam had not signed up for this week's shenanigans, which was probably for the best. A musician he was certainly not. But he could watch and be amused as other people made the attempt, certainly.

Octavia had no idea what was happening. She'd just been on one of her regular patrols around the island and come across a gathering of people.

After a few minutes, she was also pretty sure she wanted nothing to do with it.

Music? How wonderful! Sidon himself never considered himself very musical, but this did sound like a lot of fun and he was eager to give it a try...even if he did find himself looking around for Breq. It seemed like something she would have enjoyed in particular, but perhaps she was otherwise occupied?

Oh, well. Music! He would try his best to overcome his lack of skill and win that fish again!

This reminded Brooke of childhood, which was sort of a good thing. It was weird not having a clique around her for camp, though.

There are instructions for 46 different types of instruments ranging from plastic egg maracas and tubaphones to guitars and thumb pianos.

You get an entire hour to make your amazing creations!

Okay. Maybe if he just kept his head down, this would work out. Kanan grabbed four rubber bands and strung them around a coat-hanger, then plunked at them a few times just to be sure they made different sounds.

Now what the hell should he do with the rest of that hour?

Kaidan had no idea what he was doing. He took a set of instructions randomly and gathered parts, and began doing some arcane thing involving glue and cardboard and little jingle bells.

The glue was getting everywhere. It was uncontrollable glue. He was not pleased.

Peridot wasn't assembling instruments so much as she was going through all of the materials for every piece of metal she could possibly find.

Rey felt comfortable doing this because there was no possible way she could be good at this, and because she tended to go unnoticed by most people so the odds of ticking anyone off were slim.

She was already starting on a terrible cardboard guitar befirebremenbering that this was a guy who'd yelled at her three times on one trip.

On one hand, Sabine kind of wanted the fish back to redo some of her paint work, considering how much it had been through since then. On the other hand, she could always steal it and focus more on making something that looked good.

She figured the didgeridoo gave her the most surface area while also being challenging to work with with a sprayer.

Astrid was definitely going to sort through and try to find all the different tubes that might make for a good pan pipe of sorts. Either that, or some sort of drum. Maybe both. An hour was an awful lot time when you were going for possibly the simplest instruments you could think of.

Everybody sing! Do Your Ears Hang Low, followed by I'm Being Swallowed By a Boa Constrictor, and then Little Bunny Foo Foo.

After that, you can convince everyone to sing something else if you'd like.

These songs were stupid, but Kanan could manage. They had the words, after all. If he just kind of mumbled his way through, plunking at his little rubber band guitar thing, he'd do just fine.

For some reason he couldn't quite explain, he absolutely felt the need to clang his coat-hanger against a metal post while singing that last song, though.
