Jono was squinting at his syllabus again today, yes. Apparently the office moose was listening to the broadcasts and had decided that 'pizza party' was not a brooding class appropriately spent. And so, they were meeting out in the park, and were told to bring umbrellas or at least half-decent rain gear.

//Right,// he said, faintly perplexed. //I suppose I need to cover where to brood this week. Which means this is going to be a short lesson. Brood wherever you feel the need to. Class done.//

An acorn bounced off the side of his head, and Jono turned a sidelong glance toward a squirrel who had camped out in a nearby tree.

Ugh.

//... Alright, fine. If you're going to be brooding,// he hated using that word so bloody much, yes, //odds are you're either in it for show - in which case you'll want to look for the proper moody backdrop, I suppose. I don't know, go for something dilapidated or really high up. Or you're in it because you're actually aiming to be alone with your thoughts. You can't work up a proper train of thought at all if you're surrounded by interruptions. People who'll walk in on you and start a conversation are basically the bane of it all. Go for a walk on the beach or in the woods. I don't actually recommend a rooftop. There are always more people up on rooftops than you'd figure.//

Around here, anyway.

//The library is usually nice and quiet. I enjoyed working there back when I was a student, largely because of that quiet. And then there's a classic. The park bench.// He gestured to it. //I planned this class before I took th'weather into consideration, but the rain adds... I don't know. Ambiance. I brought bread. Feed the ducks or something. Or just get in out of th'bloody rain. Whichever you prefer.//

"Very much so. Remember the 'hey why doesn't the island have some sort of reserves' convo we had last week? It's now become a 'we should have something like that, I think this is a good idea, anyone else have input'..meeting...thing.." Kaidan grimaced, "Which I need a space that's private for, because it's not a general invite just yet, only a brainstorming session. Also, Iris drafted you as a deputy, so I hope you're not busy tomorrow."

//Ah...// Well, hell. //I'm not busy tomorrow, in fact.//

Apparently he was so not busy that he was okay with being deputized without complaint, at that.

"Good. Having at least one other person there who doesn't think this is the stupidest idea to ever spawn from a human brain is a good thing," Kaidan said.

//Well... I'm feeling that itch,// Jonothon admitted. //Been considering it myself. And I've seen it work here before.//

"I'm kind of hoping someone who's been here longer than I have will step up and run it," Kaidan said, scrubbing a hand over the back of his neck, "I feel like I'm too new for this responsibility."

//Not sure people'll see you as somebody to follow?//

Jono was going with a wild guess, there.

"Not the ones who don't know me, and that's most of the island," Kaidan shrugged, "It'd be better if it were someone known to more people."

//Well... I can at least make introductions,// Jono noted. //I've been around since bloody forever, and I'm a difficult face to miss in passing. Especially when all hell's breaking loose.//

"Has anyone actually used you as a signal flare before?" Kaidan asked, mostly joking but - he wouldn't put it past anyone. "Introductions would be nice. I don't even know who to talk to, outside my small group of friends. Though I want this meeting to be just them, until I see where the chips fall from the idea."

Ha. Jono had never heard that one before.

//Used myself as one,// he replied, because... hell, why not. //Tell you what, mate... We do this, we figure out what direction to take it, and I'll make introductions from there.//

"Solid plan," Kaidan agreed, "My thought was Saturday, mid-morning. Otherwise, later in the evening. Which works best for your room schedule?"

//Schedule's wide open, mate,// Jono replied. //Whatever works best for your crew, I can accommodate. The island isn't exactly teeming with businessfolk looking to hold conferences in basements.//

"Alright. I'll ask around and see when people are available. Right now the invite list is you, me, Iris, Zack, Peter, Kanan, Miguel, Liam.." He felt like he was forgetting someone. Eh. It'd sort itself out. "Not sure how many will actually show up. Iris, likely. Zack, even more likely. The rest?" He made a so-so gesture with his hand.

Jono shrugged.

//You've listed off most of th'people I'd have invited, anyway,// he admitted. //Starting to feel as though I need to get out more.//
