Phys Ed Part II, Tuesday, July 24, 2018

If your teachers looked excited to play a kids game today, it was because they were. They totally were.

The danger shop was set up to look like an oversized play room for toddlers with bright, colorful cubes and pyramids. It was possibly something Tony had mocked up to tease Barton and the Hulk, but whatever.

"Today we're playing a classic: tag," Tony said with a grin.

"In case you've never played it before," Steve said, "it's pretty simple. One person is 'it'--and they chase everyone else around until they touch another person, at which point they become 'it.'"

"A slight variation on it is freeze tag where, once you're 'tagged', you have to freeze in place until another player 'tags' you free," Tony added.

"That's the game we're playing today," Steve said, grinning eagerly. "It's going to be so much fun."

There was a slight pause before Tony added, "Oddly enough, we don't have a relevant PSA for this game," while giving Steve a sad, sad look.

Steve beamed. "Oh, thank goodness."

"I'll be sure to find one for next week," Tony assured the class.

No PSA? Break Astrid's poor little heart, why don't you? Odd thing was, if she wasn't in such a good mood from the weekend, she might have actually been a little cranky about it. How else was she to know about the importance of keeping one's shoes properly tied or...she didn't know, good sportsmanship by making sure you got permission before tagging someone.

Well, Astrid could run, at least. The open structure of tag made her feel a little bit at loose ends; there was a reason she liked the clear direction and monotony of just running laps, but she felt if she managed to keep a wide berth, she should be able to avoid being "It."

Although, if she was "It," that would give her something to focus on...

No, better try not to be. She figured she was just going to try to steer clear of everyone else as best she could in general.
