Once again, Peridot had no idea what it was the books were getting up to in the library. They seemed to be crowded around a map on the floor in the fantasy section, all fluttering their pages around excitably and knocking around small numerical geometric chance rocks. Every now and again, they would get agitated, or they would all throw up their pages in celebration.
And Peridot could not figure out why.
Perhaps the most perplexing part, though, were the bowls of small crispy human edibles, and the bottles of something labelled 'Mountain Dew,' which, at a quick glance at the ingredients list, didn't resemble mountains or dew at all.
Books didn't even eat!
