Swashbucklin', Thursday
A class in an actual classroom? Bollocks to that. Edward had liked how taking class by the Jackdaw had suited him last go-around, and so that was where he'd summoned the students. He wore an easy smile, just this edge of cocky, and his signature blue-and-whites.
"All right, lads and ladies and the rest of you lot," he called. "This semester, we're going to dispense with the niceties. When I first found myself on the high seas, I had barely any idea how to hold a cutlass, let alone fire a pistol. And it nearly killed me - until I could turn it against my foes. This is what we will learn in this class."
He crossed his arms.
"I've no idea what swashbucklin' means, but it sounded nice," he admitted, adding a grin to his repertoire. "But I believe it's time for introductions. I want you all to tell me your name, and a tale of besting one's foes in broad sunlight."

Re: Introductions
"Salutations!" he started brightly, and anyone who'd ever been in a class with him before probably knew exactly what was coming up next. "I am Sidon!" And he pumped his fist across his chest with enthusiasm, grinning as broads as he could, catching the light in just the right way for a sparkle at the end of his fangs. "The Zora Prince!"
A thrill, every single time.
"And my greatest story of defeating a foe in broad sunlight would be the now legendary tale of when I destroyed the Giant Octorok of Lurelin Village! The second greatest villain I have yet to encounter, but the first is a story for another time." Perhaps when Breq stopped being so strangely embarrassed about the whole ordeal. "But, rest assured! This tale is just as captivating and exciting! An octorok is a creature from my far distant land of Hyrule; they are not typically very large, but, as the antagonist of this story will prove, that is not always the case. Why, never before have I seen a beast so gigantic, looming over the peaceful seaside village like a magnificent, squishy mountain! And those who have seen the mountains of my glorious homeland can attest to the fact that they are no small molehills!"
The last bit said, of course, with a knowing wink toward those in the class who had been there on his last visit home.
"The creature had been terrorizing the poor, peaceful men and women of the village, and they had turned to the Zora for assistance. And though we sent our strongest, most able warriors, one by one, they, too, fell victim to the merciless megalith. I, being young and brash and inflated with ego from my first growth spurt, seized my spear and set forth with the conviction to finally slay the monster! What a bright-eyed fool I'd been then, though some could make the very good argument that I haven't changed much since then. So certain I was as I charged forward, spearpoint gleaming in the sunlight, intent to vanquish the octorok, but I had barely managed to get but a scratch on him when he opened his monstrous maw and sucked me right into his belly as if I were but a wee minnow!
"And so there I was, surrounded by darkness and fluids and the partially digested bones of my very own people, thinking that this was no way for a Zora Prince to die. This could not be how my story ended! My people needed me; I am the last of my line! I could not disappoint them and perish in such an undignified way, gobbled by a giant."
"Ah," and here Sidon found a smirk, sharp with devilish intent, "but I still had my spear with me, did I not? So I mustered up every ounce of strength in me and pulled back and stabbed into the side of the octorok. Stabbed and stabbed, swiped and slashed, as the monster screamed and writhed under the pain from inside, until, finally, I hacked through all the muscle and blood and sinew enough to let in the bright burst of sunlight from the outside world and crawled my way out from certain slow death.
"After that, it was only a matter of time before my relentless attacks brought the enemy down, and Hyrule had never been plagued by an octorok of that magnitude since."
Ask for a story from Sidon, and ye shall receive!
Re: Introductions
Long pause.
"So did it have anything worth stealing?"
Re: Introductions
Which, if you'd seen the size of a Zora king before, said a lot!
