All Things Summer- Monday- 1st period

Kitty had really meant to do something more for the first class, but then it turned out to be really freaking hot, and she was crabby and miserable and figured everyone else might want some wonderful air conditioning, too.

So, say hello to the town's movie theater.

"Hi, I'm cheating," she announced to the class when everyone got there. "I know most of you from last session, so we don't have to go around and do the full introduction thing. We're going to be doing typical summer things so you get a fun time out of things, and if there's anything you really want to get to, say so. And otherwise we're going to sit here in the cold and watch a summer blockbuster because... because."

Perhaps all those marathons of the silver screen golden age with her neighbor back home had spoiled Astrid, who really hadn't seen many modern movies. Perhaps it was just because she was coming from a time right before a certain big dinosaur franchise burst onto the scene. Perhaps she just didn't get it. But honestly? That movie...was just not very good. Why were there so many shots of the lead lady's feet? Did she ever blink? Those motivations seemed all over the place, the dialogue was...weird, and even Astrid, about 26 years behind in inflation, had enough economic sense to know that those auctioneers were really lowballing it on the price of those dinosaurs.

Still, she wasn't about to complain about watching a movie in a cool theater on a hot day. There were worse things in the world...

[[lol i may have very strong opinions about this movie and will not apologize for them]]

Peridot had no idea what was going on up on that screen, but she did recognize some of the creatures as sort of resembling the ones that had been in Jenkins' class last semester, and... now she missed Jenkins.

Mostly, she just sat through the movie in a state of awed confusion. Earth really made no sense, did it?
