Peridot came into the library today to see a bunch of books huddled around a pile of string. Every now and again, one would lean over and try to pick the string up, but since books weren't possessive of things like hands, mostly it would just snap its cover at the string ineffectively.
If she'd known about the activity in the park today, maybe she would have offered to assist. But she didn't, and so she just settled behind the counter to watch, bemused.
