Rather than enjoy the beautiful weather, class today was inside. Because the teachers wanted to have a very serious introduction with their students so they could teach them more effectively.

Also, there was a pit trap in the doorway.

So. You know, enjoy that.

"Man I'm glad I finally got to use my rogue stuff here," Magnus said cheerfully.

"So long as you're having fun," Cara said, as if she hadn't gleefully contributed her own opinions on the placement of the trap. Then down towards those students in the trap. "First lesson, always check for traps."

"Maybe always do a perception check," he suggested. "But, like, roll high otherwise it's... the pits."

Oh god, he looked so pleased with himself at that joke.

If Cara hadn't recently had to deal with Deadpool, she'd probably have rolled her eyes harder. "Anyway, if you aren't here for the dungeon class, sorry about the pit trap." It helped if you sounded the least bit repentant, Cara. "Otherwise it's time for introductions."

Then they might help you out of the trap.

Theron actually saw the pit trap, but somehow, in an uncharacteristic fit of clumsiness, he managed to trip over his own feet and tumbled in head over heels, bouncing off the walls as he went.

"...Theron," came up from the bottom of the pit.

Critical miss. Honestly, he was lucky to not take damage.

"Hi, Theron!" Magnus said, waving down at him.

Look, Yang knew Cara and Magnus. She loved these guys! Of course she actually let people go in first and paid attention.

Except she was so busy laughing at Theorn that she tripped anyway, landing on her ass at the edge of the pit. And, well, she was already here, and Magnus' pun was so good so...

"Man, I missed this so bury much," she said, hopping down into the pit to help anyone up that looked a little dazed. "Yo, I'm still Yang."

GET IT? BURY? PITS? ...Look, it was Friday, and no one else had given her a pun opening yet this week. Give a girl some credit.

And you had to realize that Magnus would never let a good pun go without a high-five. Which took some doing with the pit and all.

"Nice!"

"Aw yeah!" Yang swung her hand up to meet that low/high five as she walked past him. "You know what I'm saying! What up, Burnsides? Besides you."

Since he wasn't in the pit and all.

"You know how it is. Lost that fish I wanted." He looked off into the distance like he was actually brooding over it. "I really wanted to put arms on that thing."

"I'm Manfred," Manfred said from the pit.

Honestly, what use were psychic powers if they didn't warn you about random pits?

Magnus squinted down at him. "No relation to Boyland, right?"

"I don't think so, no," Manfred said. "Whoever that is."

"A massive tool whose dead now, so that's cool." Stupid Boyland and his million and a half kids.

Khadgar had been in these classes before, he knew exactly who he was dealing with, and yet it was only thanks to casting Blink that he managed to make it over to the edge of the trap with an undignified yell. "Okay, letting other people in first was a good idea," he said. "Still Khadgar, nice to see you again."

There were cuties and Capri Suns to have post-pit. Because of course there were.

If they weren't loving and caring, they'd leave you to find out about all the pit traps out in the real world all by yourself.
