Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2018, Early Saturday Evening [Part 2]
As the last graduate sat down, there was a bit of silence as those who had experienced graduation ceremonies before waited to see what would happen.
When a few minutes had passed, Zoe got up to speak, and was immediately interrupted by alarms ringing from the school, and the safety barrier coming down around the lawn, separating the graduates from the crowd. It was probably apparent that some non-principalesque swearing was happening, but it was hard to hear Zoe over the sound of ground breaking as an army of scorpions burrowed out of the dirt. The glitter from the lawn only seemed to make them more angry as they skittered for the students.
Hopefully, the graduates had been wise enough to come to this party prepared.

Audience! [Grad 2018]
Re: Audience! [Grad 2018]
"Dad!" Beth turned toward Rick. "What did you do?"
Re: Audience! [Grad 2018]
And to prove it, he was just going to keep fiddling with his little electronic box and not paying any attention to whatever stupid little thing was going on over there.

The box in his hands started making a little musical chime, corresponding lights dancing over the surfaces of it.
"Go get 'em, Sum-Sum!" he called out, just to rub it in a little more. "We're all very proud of you."
Then he stood and turned to go toward the door. "Come on, Morty. I gotta go see a man about a horsikomiam reading that's straight off the chiz-zarts."
Re: Audience! [Grad 2018]
A very specific, red-haired aspect of the fight in particular...
Re: Audience! [Grad 2018]
Was there a way to prepare them for this for next year...?
Re: Audience! [Grad 2018]
... If that involved pulling out a holorecorder... well...
It was important to remember these special moments, right?

[To make the fights more fun, getting stung means you have to hit the Random Icon button and work with what you get. Mwahaha!]

moddableweapons by the podium because your administration loves you and has just accepted that this is how things will be every year.Re: Graduates! - FIGHT!
Re: Graduates! - FIGHT!
Not that she'd be complaining either way. Normal graduation? Totally cool, looked great on her Instagram. Graduation invaded by giant scorpion? Mega cool, more of a Snapchat sort of thing, if she were the kind to just hide out and film it.
Which she may have been if it weren't for the weapons, but with a blaster in her hand? Helll yeaaaaah, time to shoot down some scorpion scum! She grabbed a gun, spun around, and fired at the closest scorpion, another one right after it, then a third off to her side. Bing, bam, boom! All with the cocky precision of someone who didn't even notice the fourth on her other side.
Re: Graduates! - FIGHT!
Was that a hiss? Perhaps it was just the sound it made as one part of its armor chafed against another.
Whatever it was, it lashed out at Summer with its stinger within a second of making it.
Re: Graduates! - FIGHT!
And then the stinger got her.
"Ouch! Hey!" She balled up her fist and punched the stinger away, then stepped forward to jab a finger into the things...thorax? Whatever the body part was, she stepped up, jabbed her finger into it, and told it what-for.
"That's not," poke!, "nice! Don't," poke, "do that!"
Poke, poke.
Re: Graduates! - FIGHT!
It hissed at her again, miming another warning jab. And snapped its pincers.
It could take her limbs right off, you see?
Re: Graduates! - FIGHT!
"Hold on," said Summer, whipping out her phone, but still having enough sense to back away slowly. "Just hold that pose right there, for just...one second. I gotta get a picture of this. A snap for my Snapchat!"
Re: Graduates! - FIGHT!
Mad enough that it reached out with one of those big pincers and tried to take her smartphone.
And the arm that went along with it.
Re: Graduates! - FIGHT!
"Duuuuuude," she gawked, "you are not messing around, are you?"
But she had, somehow, managed to gain a beverage. A beverage that would promptly be thrown into the scorpions face.

...and now she was six. Sure, that made sense. "THAT WAS MEAN," she yelled.

And so he was swiftly removing the knives he'd hidden on his person and looking around the battlefield for easy targets. He saw no reason actually fight one of the things himself, but if he spotted a place where a thrown knife could cause some damage, well, 'twas only neighborly to intercede.

Success! [Grad 2018]
Anyone caught Googling "how to cook scorpion meat" will get an unfriendly look. Give it a little time, yeah?
Re: Success! [Grad 2018]
And then maybe seeing if Summer would like to help him cook it, perhaps in gelatin.
