Creative Weaponry; First Period, Tuesday [02/27].
Class would be meeting in the Danger Shop that morning, and it shouldn't take long to notice that Amaya was clearly inspired by the hills that had shown up seemingly over night. She would have actually preferred to do actually do this all outside on the actual hills, but she had a feeling that giving real sharp pointy objects in the context of what she had planned was generally frowned upon, and using Nerf weapons just took away half of the fun.
And at least you didn't have to deal with cold on top of the snow in the Danger Shop. They'd find themselves at the top of a hill, with varying degrees of slopes branching out in different directions: smooth, gentle, steep, bumpy, bunny hill to demon drop. There was a table glistening with nice shiny weapons, and a particularly astute student might notice that the weapons all had one thing in common: range. And there were also a variety of things one might go down a hill in there as well, skis and snowboards, sleds and toboggans, even a snow ski and a reindeer-led sleigh.
"So, I had something different planned for today," she admitted once everyone seemed to have arrived, "but I figured I'd take a cue from the weather and had another idea. Now, creative weaponry can be about makin' creative weapons; that's mostly what we've focused on this semester. But it can also be about using weapons creatively. Which is why I've got a lot of different ways for you to combine this particular landscape with some long-range stuff. This sort of thing takes a little skill; if you've never used a crossbow before, you're probably not going to be very good at using it while going down a mountain on a pair of skis, and that's okay. The important thing is that you try, and, even more important than that, is that you learn from the first try and improve on it in the second. And for some of you who'll find this all easy-peasy," it was a talented bunch; she'd be shocked if at least one of them had actually hadn't done something liek this before, "the real creativity is going to come from find a combination more challenging." And probably absurd.
"Take a pick of weapon, choose a method of transportation, and get moving! I've got targets set up along the way for you to try to shoot at, and when you hit the bottom, you'll be sent right back up. I encourage you to try as many different weapons, courses, and ways to go down as time allows."
She brushed her hands together and placed her fists on her hips, grinning at the group. "Any questions?"

Listen to the Lecture - Weaponry, 02/27.
Class Activity - Weaponry, 02/27.
Choose your transportation: Amaya tried to be considerate of all skill levels, since she knew she sure as heck couldn't do this on a pair of skis. But there are skis, snowboards, round sleds, wooden sleds, a toboggan if you wanted to pair up with another student. Try a snowski piloted by a friend or a generic driver or one piloted by yourself. There's a sleigh pulled by reindeer and a sled pulled by some of the most beautiful damn huskies you've ever seen. There's even a trash can lid and a rolling log. Or you could just run or slide on your butt. Or some try some shield surfing. Ya got options.
Choose your course: The hills slope down in various steepness and difficulty, perflectly moddable to your tastes. Large snowmen with big red targets on them will pop up randomly as you make your way down, and try to get them with your weapons! It's as easy at that!
Repeat to your heart's desire...within the allotted time for the class period, anyway.
Re: Class Activity - Weaponry, 02/27.
She knew how to skateboard, which meant she could probably snowboard just fine, but a shield made it extra-fun. Especially since she could tuck the crossbow between her legs, hunch down and grab the edges of the shield, and fire her gauntlets in thruster-mode, shooting her in to the air -- still on the shield -- to uncurl from her launch-stance and fire away from above.
Landing was going to leave a bit of a crater, but that was fine.
(and if you thought she wasn't going to spend the other half of the class telling the huskies how they're so pretty and good, you didn't know Yang)
Re: Class Activity - Weaponry, 02/27.
Who let her do things like this, really?
"Race you!"
Peebee, no.
Re: Class Activity - Weaponry, 02/27.
Yang grinned and shifted her stance, sliding her feet through the shield's enarmes to keep a better grip.
"On your mark!" she said, saluting Peebee with her little hand crossbows.
Who let them do anything like this? Seriously.
