After the students had filed in, they were introduced to a rather different tall, gaunt, pale man than the one they were used to.

“Good morning,” he said in slow English with a silky smooth sneer. “You may call me,” he paused, “Lord Voldemort. I have been requested to be here to educate you all in the fine art of slipping one’s tongue around the intricacies of Parseltongue - the language of snakes.”

He looked disgusted as he indicated a pile of papers on Dream’s desk. “Take a vocabulary sheet, if you please. Then ask me whatever questions you may have in Parseltongue. If all else fails, I’ll resort to English, but I warn you - it’s nearly an unconscious language. I won’t be happy about having to change.” He glanced at Dream. "But...I will oblige you, as you're," another sneer, "students, yet."

His red slits of eyes were scoping out various entrances and exits to the classroom, and his hands continued to reach for a clearly absent wand. It's also possible that he may have looked almost as though he was being forced to be there by some means.

But only if you were really paying attention. Which you shouldn't be. Because you're supposed to be working on Parseltongue.

[ooc: OCD threads ~~coming~~ are up. ~~Also, I have some stuff to take care of this afternoon, so I'll be gone for about an hour. Should be back pretty steadily after that, though.~~ Huzzah, am back!]

Blair flipped through Cosmo and kept an eye out for Molly.

Molly sat down near Blair.

Blair looked up at Molly and grinned, subtly trying to cover his magazine with his notebook. He whispered slightly, "Hey there, Molly!"

Casting a wary glance at their guest lecturer, Molly grinned back. "Hi, Blair," she whispered in return.

"You look really nice today; your skin is all glowy. Do you use an avacado mask?" Blair bounced, maybe this magazine was worth the four bucks.

Molly blushed a little at the compliment, but his question completely baffled her. She just blinked at him for a moment. "A what? Uh, no, I don't use anything like that."

He checked the magazine briefly. "Really? It's supposed to be very refreshing. Plus it shrinks your pores." Blair leaned closer to Molly, staring at her carefully. "Hmmm...your pores look fine, I think."

Molly just blinked at Blair in confusion.

Blair figured that must be blinks of joy and he grinned. He was good at this girl stuff!

Molly gave a quick shake of her head to bring her out of the staring and blinking. "So, did you get the email about Jaye's birthday party tonight?"

"Yeah, I did. I'm going into town later to buy her some balloons and flowers. Are you going to the party?"

Molly nodded. "I still have to buy a present for her too." She paused for a moment. "I was wondering if you wanted to go to the party together," she finally asked.

"Th-that'd be cool." Blair paused and wondered if he should leave well enough alone or push a little. "So...no present yet? Would do you think a girl would want for her birthday?"

Oh yeah, subtle was Blair's middle name.

"I just read the email this morning so I haven't had a lot of time to think about it," Molly said. "As much as I like Jaye, I don't really know a lot about what I could get her as a gift. I may just end up getting her chocolate."

"Chocolate is a good gift for girls?" Blair looked hopeful, his pen poised over his notebook. "Like, pretty much all girls would like that as a present, right? You would, wouldn't you?"

"Not all girls like chocolate," Molly said, "but most do." She finally caught on to the subtler aspect of his questions and grinned a little. "I would be good with a gift of chocolate," she told him.

Jake sat down. He looked at the teaching dude. Dude. You fugly, he thought.

The teaching dude looked right back.

Creepily. Because sorry, he doesn't know how else to look.

Draco doesn't speak but he is staring at ~~the Dark Lord~~ Lord Voldemort. He seriously regrets not bringing his wand to class. Not that would help him very much.

Voldemort gave a slightly appraising glance in Draco's direction, but otherwise gave no indication of recognizing him.

Paige notices the staring and orbs a note to him,

You okay Drac?

Draco reads a note and looks over at Paige and nods. He looks slightly paler than usual.

She frowns, cos Draco being even paler than usual can't be a good thing given how pale he normally is.

She looks over at Voldemort, "Think I preferred it when we had the spider to talk too." she says quietly.
