Advanced Criminal Justice, Class 20, Period 1, 03.23.06

[OOC: Feel like crap this morning. You're on your own. Anakin, I'll figure out makeup work later on. Class Info Post.]

Tbe Tick was sitting at his desk when the students walked in. "Good morning, students! Please use today to work on your projects a bit more. You still have next week to work on them, but that will have to take place outside of class for the most part. Have fun!"

"We're sure he's picky?" Parker bit her lower lip, looking like she wanted to giggle. "And he actually took the planet to court, once. On the idea that Earth had committed crimes against the universe. I don't remember how that came out, though."

"Oh, God, that's right, you don't know. She left about a week ago. New instructor, Admiral Her Grace Honor Harrington. Who took us out to dinner, so, I don't think she's evil." Parker frowned. "It turns out Professor Carter was trying to conquer a galaxy. That keeps happening, I swear...."

Anakin laughed. "I like this guy," he said. He should probably think about why he was drawn to morally ambiguous beings, but this was Anakin, so he wouldn't.

His mouth dropped open at Parker's news. "What's so exciting about conquering a galaxy? I've never understood the appeal myself." He laughed again. "Not that I'm in the market to take over a world or anything. But still. Damn. I knew she was a little evil but I didn't peg her as that evil." He frowned. "I suck as a Jedi judge of character."

Parker shakes her head. "He's at least amusing as he attempts this stuff. But seriously. Soooo uptight."

"You got me on the galaxy-conquering. God, the paperwork." Parker made a face. "And she wasn't human, you know-- maybe that threw off your ability to judge? God knows I thought she was creepy, but I never guessed she was galactic-scale evil."

"Oh, I knew she was a droid," he said. "But I've never heard of a droid that wanted to take over a galaxy before. Weird."

He shook his head. "So, still on for a viewing of Marvin's antics this weekend?"

"Overachieving cyborg, I guess." Parker shooke her head. "First time for everything. And yes, I'm still up for it. Assuming neither of us win the detention lottery, how's Saturday for you?"

"I think Saturday should be okay," Anakin said. "I'll probably be in my room most of the weekend playing catch-up on all the homework I've missed, so a break to watch instructional documentaries on how not to blow up planets will be fun."
