Creative Weaponry; Tuesday, 1st Period. [01/09].
When the students came into the classroom that morning, they'd find the curtains drawn tight, the light lower than usual and occasionally flickering, and all the desks were old and a little battered and still had a light patina of storage room dust on them. "Welcome back," Amaya said with a nod, once they were all settled, leaning the front of an old teacher's desk that had to be propped up on one side with old textbooks. "Hope you like what I've done to the place. Now, this is probably the last time we'll be meeting in this classroom, so report to the Danger Shop next week, but, for this week, we have full reign here. I scavenged through storage to bring out a bunch of stuff no one was gonna be using any more so we've got full range to do whatever we want to this stuff."
And oh how that made her eyes sparkle.
"Now the world you came from out there?" she asked, pointing toward the door and then decisively waving her hands in front of her. "No more. You're in a different world now, and in that world, we've found ourselves in a serious zombie situations."
She got up, moved to one of the curtained windows and moved a curtain aside to look beyond it. "And oh no," she said, her tone not exactly convincing, but, hey, she wasn't an actress over here, what did you want? "It looks like they've got us surrounded."
Her acting may have been terrible, but she hoped that having gotten Fosse to bang on the windows at that moment might have had a little bit of an effect.
"So what'd'ya do, kids? Looks like we've got about half the class period before they bust in here trying to eat our brains. Remember, everything in this room is old junk, so you're free to do whatever you want to it to create a weapon for when those zombies attack in earnest. Keep in mind, though, that this is creative weaponry. You're not gonna get much by way of points by break a chair and, oh look, now you've got a club. The room's got far more interesting things to offer."
"Get building. What you see is what you've got, only things you'd normally find in a classroom, and when we're finished showing off what you came up with, maybe we'll even get a chance to see how they work..."

In fact, she had to take some deep breaths and remind herself very firmly that this was all just a sort of game in order to keep from feeling more than a little bit nauseous.
Her expression probably gave away just how she felt, too.

"Okay, so door and windows. Zombies won't be coming through the walls or anything like that. . . ."
Were they allowed to collaborate? Because Tip had an idea, but she was definitely not going to be able to execute it herself.

Tip nodded. "Is it cool if we team up?" she asked. "Also . . . can we hang things from the ceiling?"
Re: Work on your Weapons - Weaponry - 01/09.
Her eyes wandered that way, wondering which classroom might be above this one. But it looked sturdy enough, and besides, now Amaya was intrigued.
She shrugged. "Sure, why not?"
All for the pursuit of knowledge, right? And potentially really cool or amusing things.
Re: Work on your Weapons - Weaponry - 01/09.
"Great! I'll see what we've got that we can use as rope."
It was entirely possible Tip's plan for giant swinging bludgeons rigged over the windows and door for when the zombies busted through was beyond her grasp.
But it was going to be fun to try.

Super-strength from your soul was AWESOME.
"Spears! Come get your spears!" she hollered, holding one up. "Try not to poke your eye out!"

Of course she had a pair of ATs in her backpack, she'd started carrying them everywhere her first year on the island, but she was pretty sure that they didn't count for this assignment.
"This would be a lot easier with some actual tools," she complained. So, note to self: start carrying a toolkit around, too.

Not that she'd tried yet.

Fortunately, Uma didn't care much about things like books or personal property, so she was willing to jump in and start making things. Like pulling out a knife she swiped from the cafeteria and drilling a hole in a several textbooks, then attaching them together with the ties from the window blinds for a pair of heavy bolas. Then a chair was broken, not for a club, but to be turned into a spear--at least once a window was shattered and she could attach a shard to the edge.

One of the dummies let out a slightly pathetic-sounding moan and Amaya winced.
"Well, kinda real. I did my best. Anyway, if your weapons can't stand up to even these guys, then hopefully you'll have better luck next week. Now go fight some fake zombies."
And see how your weapons hold up. Zombie dummies are also completely moddable, and some of them even move their arms! Shush, you try putting together a dozen realistic zombies on motorized carts in a week and see how you do.

He'd brought some of his food?
He smiled at Amaya and reached to set a chair upright. "How did the class go?"
Re: Talk to Amaya - Weaponry - 01/09.
She flashed a grin, bouncing the head of one said zombie before lobbing it gently into the pile of other broken down battle dummies. "But rest assured, the thread has been handled with swiftness, decisiveness, and creativy. What brings you 'round?"

And now that social pleasantries were over, Amaya allowed herself to eye what Hannibal brought with her brows lifted. "Speaking of potential...what's on the menu today?"
