Friendship and Stabbing: an Adventurer's Guide, Thursday
The danger shop was set up to look like a tavern for class today. Just your average tavern in your average town. There was a bard in the corner, strumming out Jock Jams. Because that was a normal fantasy song for one of your teachers.
There was one big ol' table for everyone, though. Because you couldn't learn about adventuring without starting out right.
"Hail and well met, students!" Magnus said, lifting his mug of cider in greeting. It was cider because they were in a school still. "My name is Magnus Burnsides, human fighter and occasional rogue..."
He looked over at Cara expectantly.
"Cara." Beat. Several beats, actually. "Mord'Sith." And if you didn't know what that was, that was your problem.
"You're in a tavern because it's one of the traditional places to meet people," she continued after several more moments.
"Also, quests usually start here," Magnus added. "The kind that end with someone getting an arm chopped off or someone dating death or someone turning into a mannequin."
Cara was just going to let that sit there a little while longer. "Also barfights." And if that wasn't a warning to you, you hadn't been paying attention in any of her previous classes.
It was progress!
Magnus not so covertly covered his mug with his hand. "So, tell us your name, what sort of adventures you've already had and... roll real real good?"
Then the ninjas attacked.
