Rita smiled.

"Pop quiz, of a sort," she said. "I'd like you to respond verbally to several different scenarios - these are actual questions that many journalists are asked before they're hired. There are no right answers, per se."

"It would be for the sake of Justice?" asked Janet, in a quietly bemused murmur.

"Naturally," Callisto replied. "You just have to ask yourself, What Would Bugs Do?"

"Story first, then notifying the authorities if the situation allows."

"If there's no problems with reprisal from the source, then I don't see why it matters."

"Depends on how many. Not much use to work for a newspaper that has no constituents."

"When it's of any possible interest to the audience you pander to."

"Maybe not, but if you can do it and not get in trouble..." He shrugged vaguely.

Alanna signed in.

"I'd notify the police. People's safety is more important than any story. Plus, the whole experience could make a good story too."

"Um, you could always say the information came from an undefined source."

"Yes. The public deserves to know, they'll found out anyway, and it'll make a good story." Alanna paused for a second. "Ew."

"Whenever it makes a good story. Which I think is almost always."

"Sure. They're just doing thier job."

"I'd say no. It's going to make finding future sources much harder if you don't keep your word this time."

Chloe signed in.

"Definitely go for the interview. The authorities can be sweet talked into forgiving you later."
