Today, the teachers were phoning it in! Well, kind of. They were there, but so was the television and a DVD player. "Today, in an effort to make government systems more fun," Steve began, "we're going to watch it in singing cartoon form."

As you do!

"Edutainment," Tony said, raising his eyebrows like clearly everyone was into it. "Its a Friday. Just enjoy the break."

And maybe hope whatever weirdness happening would skip over the room.

...or not, as the less technically adept of the pair of them went to press play on the DVD and hit the "fire" button lying in wait for him on top of the machine. Glitter, everyone?

Tony sneezed, sending out a little puff of glitter. "What. The hell."

"Language," he corrected immediately before adding an, "I'm sorry. I have no idea what happened." His hair was entirely coated in glitter, as was his shirt. It was a Look.

"A glitter bomb," Tony suggested. "Maybe we should all avoid pushing buttons in the class?"

"Good idea," Steve said with a sour look at the DVD player. "Write notes as you watch the videos and we'll have a discussion if there was anything unclear about the presentations after, okay?"

Tony hesitantly pressed play , breathing a sigh of relief when it played as expected. This time.

"I believe in you, Steve," Tony said, trying those 'aw, shucks' eyes for himself.

Steve snickered. "That would probably be more effective if you weren't drenched in glitter."

"I'm going to have to take so many showers after this class is over," Tony said with a sigh.

"Don't use up all the hot water and good soap," Steve said.

"The good soap," Tony repeated with a laugh. "Oh god, am I spoiling you with fancy soaps?"

"If it's not Ivory, it's automatically a fancy soap," Steve said.

"The wealthy have delicate skin," Tony assured him solemnly. "Ivory just wouldn't cut it."

"I've seen what you do in the lab," Steve teased. "You're not worried about delicate skin."

"I'm an anomaly?" he suggested, smiling like he was really selling this.

"A sparkly, sparkly anomaly," Steve grinned.

"I'm making it work," Tony said, poking Steve in the chest with one finger. "It's only a little worse than the dances here."

...that was fair.

"That's fair," Steve admitted.

"Maybe we should see if we can sweep this up for the next dance." Tony would build a roomba from what he found in the office before actually sweeping it up.

"Do they need the extra?" Steve asked.

"...I would think so?" But now they had to contemplate the amount already in their possession.

"I always wondered if the gremlins produced it or something," Steve admitted.

"And suddenly the economy of this island is explained."

IT ALL MADE SENSE.

Steve grinned. "Illicit glitter sales?"

"Don't let on that we know," Tony replied, glancing around like they really had something to worry about here. "Or else we'll get gremlins showing up to keep it quiet."

Oh, like they would be able to resist the Skywalker and Skywalker adjacent people long enough to come after them.

Steve burst out laughing, shaking even more glitter from his hair. "Probably wearing a month's stock right now."

Which was something that always made Tony's day better. The laughter, not the raining glitter.

"I hope they invested wisely."

"Does glitter trade on the stock exchange?" Steve asked. "Or is it more of a commodity?"

"You know, experts still haven't decided," Tony replied like a very serious businessman who was covered in the stuff. "It's really a question for the ages."

Steve laughed again. "Maybe the squirrels know. They know everything else."

"That's because they're little spies," Tony replied. "At least they have short attention spans."

Or alcoholism.
