Lana signs in, not looking well at all.

Victor signs in. Hey, archery!

Anders pays close attention to the safety instructions, because there are sharp pointy objects being launched at high speeds here, and Lords know Cally worries enough about him hurting himself. ~~Also yay, the dorktastic crossbow icon finally gets a legitimate use!~~

He's a little disappointed that he only gets the bullseye about once every seven or eight tries; he always figured his aim was better than that, but then again he's used to throwing a ball, not shooting an arrow.

Lana watches Anders, but doesn't really want to participate herself.

Victor is more used to a laser gun then the bow and arrow, but tries hard anyway. He really likes the challenge, because his mutant agility really doesn't help out too much with it. During a break, he asks Lana if everything's okay.

"Shep's gone," she says quietly.

Victor can't really remember who Shep is, but definitely recognises the look on her face.

"I'm really sorry, Lana. Is he coming back?"

Lana looks down. "He doesn't know, but there's a good chance he won't be. And he... told me not to wait for him."

Victor frowned at that. "That really sucks. Is there anything I can do to help?"

"You're being really sweet to me," Lana said with a half-smile. "That means a lot. It's just something I have to deal with, I guess. Just.. be patient with me if I'm feeling miserable for a while, okay?"

"No prob. I know what it's like to be away from someone you care about. Just brood a little, have some chocolate ice cream and go watch a movie. It might help a little." He smiled back and went to go shoot a few more targets before the end of the period.

"Not gonna give it a shot?" asks Anders. "Heh. Shot. I so didn't plan that."

Then, noticing Lana's expression, he tilts his head and asks, "Hey, you okay?"

"Maybe not the best time for me to be playing with sharp objects," Lana said.

She looked away. "Shep's gone. And I'm not handling it too well."

"Everybody I know keeps having people go away," mutters Anders, biting his lip. "Frak, I'm sorry . . . I just . . . that sucks. Yeah, I wouldn't be playing with sharp objects in your place either. Hell, if it were me I don't even know if I'd've made it to class."

Lana nods, "Yeah, thanks. It's... hard. And I thought about skipping class, but... I just figured I'd be better out with people."

"You're one up on me," he says with a crooked smile. "I mean, 'f Cally went away I'd probably be, like, curled up in a ball on my floor until somebody broke down the door and dragged me out. And then I'd probably fight 'em, and . . . yeah. That's just . . ."

He sighs again. "Damn. I really am sorry."

Lana's eyes filled again. "Yeah, actually... I just... Look can you tell the professor that I'm sick or something? I can't do this. Stupid of me to think I could. I'm sorry, you've been really nice, but..." She tried to smile then gave up and just fled from the room.
