The Tick was at the front of the room as always. Lockheed was givig hopeful glances to Cameron from his normal book shelf.

"Hello, students! Today you will be starting on your big project for the semester. It's actually pretty simple. I'll split you into groups of two. Each group will figure out a theory - any theory - about how Justice works. Take Parker's Darwinist view of Justice, for example (well, don't take it, it's hers). Once you have a theory worked out, you'll be using any of these ~~cartoons~~ documentaries on my desk to showcase the theory."

"Pending Professor Mac's approval ~~which I totally forgot to get beforehand, oops~~, I'd like to use the Danger Shop to showcase these theories at life size and see if they hold true. Your theories and how they apply to the documentaries are due two weeks from today."

"This project is all about teaming up with someone and compromising on your views of Justice, so get into your groups and get to talking!"

"This weeks metaphor is lightbulbs. And this week's extra credit is to devise a battlecry for your project partner!"

Oh look at that. MacGyver just happens to hobbling by the Tick's classroom on his way to somewhere else.

How convenient! Tick had something to ask Mac.

"Hello, Mac!" Tick said, running out into the hallway. "I have a question for you!"

"Hey Tick," Mac said stopping and turning to face his colleague. "What can I do for you?"

"Could I use the Danger Shop two weeks from Thursday for my class? I have another project in my class where I'd like to run simulations based on student input," Tick explained.

"Absolutely. No one will be around at that time anyway so it should be free anyway. Is there any help you might need on my end?"

"I could use some help with the programming stuff. Usually I just hit buttons until it works," Tick said. Nothing bad had happened yet with that, but that was no reason to risk it.

"Not a problem. I'll be happy to help. If I can't make it for some reason, I can always ask Sam Carter to help you. She's my TA and knows how the whole thing works."

"Well, that's convenient! Thank you, Mac!" Tick said.

"Sorry I was late, sir. My alarm didn't go off." Because it was in her room, not at the 4th Sin. "It won't happen again."

"It's not a problem, Parker. As long as it doesn't become habit, you're okay," Tick said.

"Thanks, Professor. It won't." Nope, no way. Even is she has to set her watch alarm another half hour early, just in case of things that won't be happening again. Right.

Angel hung back after class for a moment to talk with Prof. Tick.

"Angel! What brings you to my desk after class?" Tick asked.

With Prof. Tick you never knew how literal this might be.

"My legs?"

"Hmm... And what are your legs a metaphor for here?" Tick asked, not quite following Angel's logic.

"The, uh, forward momentum for the quest for knowledge?" Angel tried. "For justice?"

"That works. Now, did you want to talk to me about anything besides that metaphor?"

"Just checking in," Angel said. "Since I was out last week. Say thanks for being patient with that."

"Not a problem, Angel! You went through a lot and had to get better. I'm just glad to see you up and about again," Tick said.

"Glad to be up and about," Angel said. He might've glanced guiltily in the direction of where Logan had been sitting. "I should go then. Get some rest before my next class."

"Have a good day, Angel!" Tick said, wondering what was with the glance Angel had given a seat.

"You too, sir," Angel said. He gathered up his things and left.
