BWI Airport Portalocity Lounge, Saturday Morning

All of Jughead's possessions fit inside a single backpack.

He didn't mind it. At least it was crammed as full as it could be crammed, that was good enough for him. And if he could keep people from figuring out that was the case, even better. This was supposed to be a break from –– everything. Riverdale and all associated drama.

Still, when he arrived in the lounge and checked his phone, he found himself wondering whether Archie even remembered he was moving today.

Whatever.

He dropped his backpack on the floor and leaned against the wall. Good. This seemed like a decent spot to stand in while eyeing everyone else warily.

The Lense of Straight Creepin' was definitely earning you a look there, Magnus.

"'Track' them," she said. "Uh-huh, sure. And do you have anything, I don't know, smaller? Good, um, teenaged girl in a crisis size?"

Hey, if something went down in this place between now and leaving for Fandom, Summer would have to defend herself, and it wasn't a bad idea to swipe something from the guy who clearly didn't need so many weapons all at once. Or maybe he did, which would be kind of impressive, but would it really hurt him to spare a weapon or two when he clearly had a gazillion?

Magnus gave her a serious look for that and starting to gather up his precious, precious weapons. Look, he couldn't summon an angelic Della Reese or cast magic missiles, but he could fight real good, okay?

It was his thing.

"If anything shows up, I'll kill it for you," he promised instead.

"But that's no fun!" Summer whined. Because she was a strong, independent woman who didn't need no man!

"Come on, though, you're telling me you don't have, I don't know, a Dagger of Stabiness or a Give the Girl a Sword Because Women Defending Themselves is Bad-Ass and Awesome in there?"

"Well, I need these!" Magnus insisted. "And no, I have yet to find any of those. Maybe there will be a Fantasy Costco where everyone is going and you can get one. Just. Don't pay with blood."

You know. Word to the wise.

If there was a Fantasy Cosco, then, yes, she would totally do that, but until then, she had her eye on you and your magical invisible bag of holding or whatever it was, Flamesword Guy.

"Ew," Summer wrinkled her nose, "no, gross. I mean, the blood of my enemies, maybe, but not my own. You think they'll take pills?"

It was really dumb how many pills her parents gave her to pay for things. As if that would make up for sending her here in the first place. And she was going to be even more pissed off when she found out they didn't really take pills here anyway.

"Maybe if you can convince Garfield on it?"

He was a broken, broken Warlock, that man. Cat? Catman?

"Who's Garfield?" asked Summer, picturing some fat and hairy overlord type with a weird obsession with lasagna.

You know, she wasn't too far off.

"He's a Deals Warlock."

And was always happy sounding. It was terrifying.

"So, like, if I talked to him, I could maybe convince him to trade my pills in for something more useful? Like a weapon? Or lip gloss?"

She could kind of kill for some lip gloss right now.

"Maybe," he agreed brightly. "He loves a good deal. Just use your charisma."

Deception check, Magnus. Deception.

"Cool," Summer nodded. "Thanks."

Until then, though, if anything went down, you'd better watch your shit, Magnus.
