Faithful titled his head to the side. "I think they're all drunk. But then, they also feel off to me." He shifted, trying to get the sword to rest against his back better. "Hm. Everyone seems all right aside from that."

Correctly interpreting that to mean that the players weren't acting like themselves, Zhaan studied the stage, watching their movements. "Perhaps they took a stimulant, before the beginning. I've heard of such measures -- teams, wishing to win their game having rallies participating in a pre-game celebratory drink."

Faithful's whiskers twitched. "Actually, Alanna at least, was drinking in order to not kill anyone. She hates acting, and she's playing her worst nightmare. Truly, I don't think anyone at this school needs an excuse to drink. But I think there might be more." His whiskers twitched. "The play is amusing though."

"Indeed," laughter edged Zhaan's voice, "I haven't quite looked upon love in such a light fashion in a long while."

Faithful chuckled. "Love in the past few days meant having to dodge flying teddy bears for me. May I ask what you are?"

"Not at all." Zhaan considered a moment, then replied, "I am Delvian, from a planet I have not seen in far too long." There might have been slight wistfulness in her tone, but it disappeared when she continued, "In biological, Earth terms, I'm a plant."

For the first time in a long time Faithful found himself speechless for a few moments. "Oh. I'm a cat. The Cat, really, but for now, a cat." He blinked a few times.

"Indeed. I am Zhaan." Not pressing him further for an explanation of his riddl'd words, she gestured at the stage. "Somehow, I suspect this is not the play as the writer intended it."

"No." Faithful agreed. "But it is quite entertaining none the less. I do wonder how the actors are ever going to live this down, though." He chuckled to himself.
