Walter had taken one extremely long sliding step backward. The sort of step that somehow covers ten or more feet. It's a butler thing.

Since when did Pip have a speech impediment? "How about a stick of gum instead?"

Pip grabbed at the gun too early and it smacked him in the arm. "Damn! Gueth my reflextheth are father than I'm uthed to."

He knelt down and picked up the gum.

Pip sighed. "No. Don't thuppothe it matterth. We're the fair folk. Thith ith our play. We have a thertain... connecthion."

He slipped the stick of gum into his mouth. "Your friend, for the record, ith the most thubborn thon of a bitch I've ever pothethed. Freaking Frenchman."

Pip convulsed, then looked up at Walter. "And this bastard? Is easily the most overbearing, control freak of an ass that there is among the faires."

If it weren't his friend, the exchange between Pip and his pothethor possessor would be funny. Tomorrow, when his friends were free, he'd laugh.
