"Well look at that." said Fairy Adella with mock excitement. "Somebody figured it out."

She winced.

"You're rather handsome. Though the girl keeps yelling at me that you have a 'boyfriend'... So I assume you play for your own team..." she pauses and gives him a predatory look.

"Though.. With this body... It rather wouldn't matter what you had to say about it, wouldn't it?"

She winced again, for slightly longer this time.

Walter shuffled through the myriad of questions that that pronouncement generated.

"Are you going to give her body back?" Or am I going to have to find someone to make you give it back?

The smile was no longer tugging at her lips, it was sliding across her face like a sunbeam slides across the floor as the day passes through a window.

What followed was the mental equivalent of a sucker punch.

Fairy!Pippi sighed and relaxed visibly. She reached out and took up the end of Walter's tie with her thumb and forefinger.

"Would you go back with me in her place?" she asked in a silky voice. "When the curtain fell?"

Walter smiled tightly at her and shook his head. "No. And she's not going back with you either."

She wound the end of the tie around her pointer finger and then clenched her fist.

"Some friend you are." she said, then "threw" the tie back at his chest.

"Scram."

came a faint internal voice.

He looked at "Pippi" and tried to see some of his friend there, speaking for her benefit. "I will scram. I'll scram right over to Professor Dream, who'll let the other professors know. Then I'll go find some of the witches who go to school here."

"I notice you don't mock Professor Dream. That's alright. That's where I'm beginning anyway." Walter took a step back, watching fairy!Pippi carefully.

"I'll be back, Pippi. And whoever you are," he added for fairy!Pippi. "I know none of the teachers will let you stay like this." He took another cautious step back. He knew what Pippi's body could do.
