Walter grinned and nodded again. "Yes. A propane tank makes an excellent improvised bomb when attacked by fish monsters."

Well, Lucas had witnessed an attack of snow monsters his first weekend here, might as well go along with fish monsters, too.

"Definitely." He nodded and tried not to smirk too broadly. It was amusing to see if you could perplex Fandom residents. "And she's quite good at it."

"I'm a bit curious, just where did you kids manage to encounter fish monsters?"

"Just a little cruise with Pippi. She's starting a tour service soon and we were on a test run, you know, dinner, friends, some music. Other than the fish monsters, it was fun."

Lucas' eyebrow went up. "I'm hoping the monsters aren't going to be a regular part of the tour,"

"Hopefully not. We think they were after a statue Pippi had. They mostly left us alone after they got it." Walter was fairly casual about it. It really hadn't been that bad.

Lucas nodded. "Well, at least they sound like they were somewhat reasonable." He paused. "I'm . . . still a bit new to town, do things like fish monsters or snow monsters happen often?"

Walter pursed his lips consideringly. "I've only been here since the beginning of January but have seen or heard of vampire attacks, zombies, something about a duck army, sucking robots, sucking fish monsters, heavily sucking snow monsters, a sudden swarm of muppet chickens, and that at one time, there was a giant squid in the basement swimming pool.

"So yes. I would say that thing like that do happen often. Oh yes, and the gremlins."

Lucas's eyebrows slowly climbed higher and higher on his forehead as Walter's little speech continued. "I . . . can't decide if I need to get out more or stay in more. Did you say muppet chickens?"

"Get out more, but go armed," was Walter's suggestion. "And yes, muppet chickens. They were everywhere in the dorms. It was quite amusing."

"Have you ever seen chicken excrement?" Walter asked and raised his eyebrows. "Muppet chickens are much tidier."

Lucas nodded again. "Uh . . . huh." He decided to look for a new topic. "So, who was that nice green kid you were dancing with when Nadia started at my store?"

Walter suppressed a snicker at a successful bit of unsettling. "Victor." He could do this. Nobody cared. "My boyfriend. That's who I'm taping this for."
