Creative Cooking With a Focus on Pudding - Thursday, 3rd Period
"Hallo, class!" Wonka was at his desk, with a clear glass of carbonated water and several vials of syrup.
"I do hope that you enjoyed your time off last week. But we're two months in now, and there's no time to delay! Today, we shall be having a pop quiz.
"You're going to pair off and use your ice creams to make floats for each other!" He began to pour first one, then another syrup into the glass, creating distinct layers. "You'll use your partner's ice cream and the soda fountains in the room to create something novel, and hopefully at least marginally visually pleasing. You are both allowed and encouraged to ask them about the makeup of their ice cream, and for feedback as you mix."
He took a look at his creation. The bubbles were growing and popping within each layer, regardless of the rest of the liquids in the glass. "The catch here is that I expect you to know your flavours by now, so you will have to seek out something that works by trial and error. No relying on combinations that sound right. Only what tastes right."
He took a sudden swig of his mixture. It sloshed and rolled, then settled back into layers. When he spoke again, his voice squeaked out, unnaturally high. "Hop to it, class!"
Perhaps some of these soda machines were not using carbon dioxide.

Pair Off
It is forbidden to remove the tape, or otherwise cheat to see the names of the flavors. If you do, the machines just might get cross with you. And when these guys are cross, they can be real soda jerks.
Re: Pair Off
He went for some kind of violently pink syrup because that would go together, right? And pink potions had never gone wrong for him before!*
*this was very much not true.
