Broots was oddly perky for someone who had to be awake by eight in the morning. "Good morning everyone! Hope you're all awake, and if not...coffee and donuts are by the sign in sheet. Fruit for those who don't like donuts. I'm sure you must exist.
Beginners, you guys will be doing a variation of the project Intermediate did last week. Either by yourself or in pairs you're going to draw out Pascal's triangle. Fifteen lines per person minimum please. Then, you'll choose a number from two to ten and you'll color in the numbers that are divisible by your chosen integer. Go crazy with the coloring, art supplies in the back. For the write up part, tell me why you chose your number - I felt like is a valid reason - and then describe the pattern you found.
Intermediate, you guys are going to be building roller coasters today." He paused. "Well, at least planning them. First off, at the computer terminals, you get to play around with this little toy and try to get the car to get to the other side. I'd like two different designs from each person, but feel free to bug your neighbor about what you think will work or not. Then, you get to design another roller coaster with this toy. Again, two designs, make them both fun and safe. And lastly, tell me if you would be interested in actually building a roller coaster in class or not. Okay, have at it!
Oh, and Susan and Logan? I need to speak to you at the end of class? Thank you."

When presented with "All of the above" on a multiple choice quiz, it is often wise to choose it.

He looks down at the pattern. "Huh. That's interesting."

Re: Beginners
She finds that it's just a line at the bottom and thinks that's dull. So she makes a second and colors in multiples of 2 in green, because she thinks the pattern it would make would be pretty.
