Student Council, Lunchtime

Apparently, today was a brownie holiday, because the bakery had them on sale. So, there were multiples plates of tasty chocolate squares on the table, along with the usual pizzas and salads waiting for everyone in the council.

"Good afternoon, thank you for coming by today," Zoe said. "As some of you might be aware, next week is Valentine's Day, and we traditionally have a dance to celebrate. Things were clear for next Saturday, so the dance will be then; we just need to decide if we want to do anything special, or just dip into the decoration reserves for all the lovebirds."

Brownies were some of Maria's favorite things, so of course she had obe. Ok, two.

Tip grabbed herself a piece of pizza, some salad, and the biggest cream cheese frosted brownie she could find.

It was . . . very large. Very. She might still be eating it by the time actual Valentine's Day rolled around.

Maria wasn’t fond of the holiday, but she wouldn’t rain misery down on the people who did.

"Should we try to, like, have options for people who aren't coupled up?" Tip wondered. "Like . . . decorate a shadowy corner all in black. Or have a goofy 'just friends' backdrop available at the photographer?"

Yeah, Tip was not even remotely anticipating having a date for Valentine's Day.

Maria had quickly gotten used to how this place never ran out of glitter and how it was always there for everything.
