Music 201 - 03/17/06 - Period 7 - Class #18

Today's junk food of choice is...uh, well, whatever it is it's green. Every piece of food laid out is green. Even the completely non-alcoholic drink container is green. So are the cups. Mm green.

"Clothing is a totally important part of any musician's gig. Not only is the image like the most important thing other than the music, clothes can also help with the music itself. There's this place called the Labyrinth and I talked to this dude, Jareth, who used to be a teacher here. He controls all of the music in his Labyrinth. How does he control music over a whole place you might ask? And if you might ask that, then I might tell you that it's all in the pants."

Ted snickered, then sobered. "Uh, not what's IN the pants. I meant the actual pants dudes. See, Jareth wears these really tights pants and he says that it's the source of all of his power. I think he might have been high...uh, on life little dudes, drugs are bad mkay...but that's what he said anyway.

Today's talk thing is about how clothes make the music. If you had to pick a piece of clothing that would make or break your performance, what would it be and what would it do?

Oh, and anyone who did wear tight pants today totally gets bonus grades. Feel free to strut, dudes."

John and Cameron both sign in wearing wearing identical leather pants. They're pretty tight.

Callisto signed in.

She wasn't wearing tight pants, but there are those would argue leather mini-skirts trump tight pants.

Angela signed in.

Her jeans were pretty baggy, though, so no bonus points. Oh well.

Marty isn't wearing tight pants. He's wearing a suit.

He's also not looking at Cameron and John in their tight pants.

Mostly likely he's looking at Angela and her somewhat baggy pants.

The Twinkie Thief does not sign in, because, duh, he is not a member of this class. Nor, duh, is he here. You don't see him hiding behind the pot potted plant. Watching the leather people. You do see two boxes of these, which have mysteriously appeared in the junk food stash.

Zero signed in. Her jeans were pretty darned close-fitting.

Pip signs in and happens to be wearing tight pants. They're kind of millitary looking and definitely not leather, but they are tight.

Jake signs in wearing jeans (since Krycek wears the leathers in this relationship).

Bridge signs in. The pants on his uniform aren't exactly baggy, nor are they form-fitting.

D'anna signs in, woefully lack in tight pants, but keeping with the short skirt theme set by Callisto. Minus the leather of course.

Lindsey signs in. He's wearing the tightest pants he owns, but that's not saying much. Alas.

Callisto has no pants. Callisto needs no pants.

Marty is not wearing tight pants. Therefore no strutting.

Re: Strut

[identity profile] cyclopeanmerc.livejournal.com 2006-03-17 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Pip has tight pants. Therefore he struts. He might also do a few turns, do a few tricks with his hat, etc. Because Jareth was mentioned and he saw a picture of Jareth once and he thought that Jareth kind of looked like David Bowie. And he accidently got confused and thought it was a walk-off.

Hey, he spent all of wednesday night fighting off eldritch creatures of pure insanity and mandess. Kid's liable to get a little confused.

At least he's in tight pants.

John struts. Why not?

We wear tight pants, we wear tight pants
We move and shake, we're not still like plants

Zero attempts to strut. She's not so good at the strutting thing, though. She much prefers to mosh.

"Flannel," Angela said with a firm nod. "Music sounds way better when the people making it are just wearing ordinary clothes, and not dressing to show off."

"Hat," Pip said, raising his own distinctive Australian/cowboy hat. "Hats are pretty cool if you know how to wear them. And all it takes to wear a hat is attitude."

I know have a mental image of the Jareth pants, I'm so glad I don't have any classes today, I have a feeling I will be distracted for at least the next few hours.
