Student Council, Lunchtime

Zoe had some healthier options out for lunch today - namely, salads among the pizza - but it was all balanced out by boxes of cookies as well.

"Good afternoon, it's good to see all of you again," she said once everyone was settled. "Next week is Parents Weekend, so we need to prepare for that. Beyond preparing ourselves personally for anyone who might be coming," she added. "We hold a few events for everyone and their visitors to attend, and we usually do something on Saturday night involving food and our copious glitter supplies. Does anyone have an idea for what we should feed people? Or, questions about Parents Weekend in general?"

After eating pizza at Deadpool's class... Negasonic just said "fuck it" in her head and ate more pizza.

Roscoe was happy to enjoy his second serving of free pizza for the day. Fandom High was awesome.

Mmm, more free pizza.

Maria ate one slice of pizza and then helped herself to salad.

Hey, StuCo meeting. First one for Dante.

He was going to say yes to that pizza now, please.

Tip was already starting to look forward to free pizza lunch on Fridays. And she grabbed a little bit of salad, too, so she could tell her mother she was eating her vegetables when she showed up for Parents' Weekend.

Lucille had learnt at the last meeting that pizza wasn't as bad as she had first expected. She still preferred to eat it with a knife and a fork though, as dropping pieces of topping on her dress would be a bad thing.

Maybe the visitors won't be awful?

Ugh. Parents.

"Do we have to do anything special for visiting parents?" Negasonic asked with a half-groan. "First time doing this. No idea how this works."

"Maybe we could have a recovery area," Roscoe suggested. "Like if you really can't stand your parents and you have to scream for a second you can duck into a little extra room."

"Probably can set up something in the dorm," Negasonic suggested. "Like where that ball pit is."

Roscoe snapped his fingers. "I love that idea." The ball pit was probably a great place to scream. "And we could set up, like, a swim-up bar for quick distractions."

It was totally cool to say that in front of the principal, right?

This was suspiciously turning into a party.

"No glitter."

"Moderate glitter?" Roscoe suggested hopefully.

"Definitely moderate glitter," Dante called.

"No. Glitter."

Roscoe. Don't make Negasonic give you the mean face.

Roscoe pointed at Dante. "Looks like we have a majority," he said, with a fake sympathetic look. But he also made a heart with his hands and pointed it at Negasonic's direction.

Sorry, little sis.

Ugh.

"Fine. Whatever," she said with a huff. "Moderate glitter."

There was enough love in her voice for Roscoe despite her anti-glitter stance.

"Moderate?"

Lucille had been pleased that someone agreed with her on the issue of glitter.

"Maybe we could do it like an old-fashioned barbecue? Grill burgers and hot dogs -- including veggie ones for people that don't eat meet -- and have different salads and desserts, too?"

"Is that something we have to do or does it just magically appear like at the picnic?"

Legit question. Negasonic wasn't up for grilling food.

"I think a few of us can man the barbecue and the other stuff could probably be provided like it usually is with these kinds of events?"

"So, uh. Fair warning," Tip said. "One of my guests may try to eat all the napkins. Or, like, hand sanitizer if we put any out for people. Or basically any scented decorative items."

J.Lo had interesting dietary needs.

"On purpose?" Rey asked.

Had to check.

"He's an alien," Tip said. That explained it, right?

"I've never known any to eat hand sanitizer," Rey said thoughtfully. "What species?"

"Boov?" Tip didn't expect Rey to recognize it. No one else had. "They eat dental floss and, like, industrial cleansers, too. He keeps a shaker of chlorine on our table at home."

Which Tip's mom had clearly labeled after her third time picking it up thinking it was salt.

"Oh." Yeah, hadn't heard of it. "We should probably bring extra, then."

"He'll probably bring some of his own snacks," Tip said, feeling bad now and wondering if she'd thrown J.Lo under the bus. "But -- yeah, that'd be really nice."

"We need tea and scones at the picnic," Lucille announced. "I also think the glitter is completely unnecessary."

Good luck with getting rid of glitter, Lucille.

"I can play the piano," she added. "Perhaps Mr Starsmore would let be borrow one from the shop."

"I'm not sure the necessity of glitter is really it's selling point," Tip said. "It's more like -- an accessory."

A kind of irritating accessory, but not one Tip had grown to hate ~~yet~~.

"An unnecessary accessory then," Lucille countered.

"Yeah, I'm not arguing with that part. I'm saying they don't care if it's necessary or not. You can have things at a party that aren't necessary."

"Why?" Lucille asked. "Surely even accessories and decorations are necessary."

Just drop this, Lucille.
