On the door of Humanities #2 is pinned the following sign:

Your professor is still ~~hung over~~ indisposed. Please sign in and then ~~go away to let me die in peace~~ discuss Tuesday's lecture amongst yourselves. ~~You keep doing it in class while I'm lecturing anyway, you can bloody well do it for credit now.~~ Prof. Pierson will return ~~when the mun returns from her long weekend of family obligations~~ next Tuesday.

"So... death by hot poker..." Lana shudders.

"Ow." Parker agreed with enthusiasm. "Inventive, but, seriously. I think his wife was working out her issues. And how did they find out about this later, I wonder, if the whole point was not to leave marks on the body? Someone must have talked."

Zero ostentatiously studied her nails for several seconds, then said, "So, Professor Pierson's being a pansy-ass, or did, as seems to be the case, contract the death flu. Or both. Discuss." She waved at the security camera while smiling sweetly.

Parker waved at the security camera as well. "Did that beer ever age properly, I wonder?"

"Hmm, consumed his body weight in alcohol, there's a possibility I hadn't considered yet ~~since I don't know if the crossouts are supposed to be in the actual note~~."

"Always possible, although, because we know him, it must have been in the interests of academic research. ~~Me neither, but it's not slander if we're just wondering!~~ Or, he wandered into SC when we weren't paying attention again, and he's curled up with a book and a dragon somewhere, and will come out next week."

"Oh, of course, he's so dedicated to academic pursuits, our Professor Pierson. I hope if he's wandered into Special Collections, he hasn't met up with that scary monk."

Parker shuddered, not for the surveillance cameras this time. "Brother Cal? Callous? Yeah. I've heard the dragon was nicer. Of course, poor Professor Pierson might just be hiding under his covers with a cold. Maybe." She grinned. "Or maybe he's sick, and self-medicating."

"I'd rather deal with the dragon any day than Brother Callous. He's creepy. An' I think the blighter might be a bit of a perv, too." Zero grinned. "Self-medicating. Definitely."

Parker returned Zero's grin, then commented on Lana's shuddering about the hot poker. Because, wow. There was chainmail underwear, and then there was hot pokers. Ow.

"I want a castle," Cameron decided.

"Any particular kind?"

"Thick and sturdy walls and ramparts, a ditch around the entire thing and a drawbridge." He didn't have to think long about it.

"And you want this castle for defense or just to keep cool stuff? And what are you defending?" Parker was grinning, trying to think of what she wanted in a castle.

"To play knight of the round table," Cameron grinned. "Although, I'm thinking we could use a castle to hole up in during the next zombie attack."

"Definitely. Or a tower to drop more hot oil and coffee onto them from."

"Yeah, I'm kinda going for the complete castle experience if I can chose. If it goes well together with my superhero costume it will impress the chicks even more." Yes, he's trying to goad her on.

Parker's grin is evil. "Juuuust you wait. You'll have to wear it. Tasteful. Superhero. Costume. Ahoy."

He narrowed his eyes. "Please tell me it won't have bows."

"Pfffttt." Parker grinned. "You won't even be showing any skin!"

"Too bad, I've got nice skin," he said feeling relieved nonetheless.

Trust me, it's just not worth it.
