Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

So, the heat meant that many of the tables and chairs had been set up in the shade, and someone had found outdoor table umbrellas in blue and gold, god help us all. But hey, a little heat never hurt anyone who wasn't a vampire, right?

Ahem. The picnic was open for warm, sunny business.

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Ringo had decided on a bikini top and cutoff shorts for the picnic today largely in honor of Kathy. She didn't carry it off the same way, of course, which would have been true even if Ringo's short and curvy build wasn't pretty much the opposite of Kathy's.

She spotted Kira and headed over with a wave. "Hey, Kira," she said with a grin. "How's it been going?"

"Ringo, hi! I've been doing okay. It's kind of weird to be going into my senior year," she said, looking her over. "You're dressed nicely for the weather. How are things going for you?"

"Good!" Ringo smiled. "I feel like not much happened this summer, but maybe that's a good thing, you know?" She cocked her head. "What about you? Making post-graduation plans yet?"

"Ugh I'm trying not to think about it," Kira said with a long sigh. "I've got to start thinking about colleges, but every time I think about college my stomach cramps and... sometimes I remember when Kathy got into her school and the whole thing just makes me feel awful. I don't know, maybe I'll run away and join a circus instead."

"Oh." Kathy. "Yeah."

Ringo managed a mostly-light smile. "But, come on, college has to be better than the circus." Little grin. "Besides, what would your act be?"

Kira thought for a moment before sighing dramatically and smiling. "Well, if you're going to make me be logical about it, I guess I will have to go with college. I just have to figure out what I want to study. Not History, no matter how many sad faces my dad makes," she said.

Ringo grinned. "Anything on your list as awesome potential subjects?"

"I mean, I have, like, no idea if I'm even going to college, so I suppose it's a bit unfair for me to expect you to have it all figured out."

"I think it might be cool to study law. Or science," Kira said. "What do you think you might do once you graduate?"

"I literally have no idea," Ringo admitted with an awkward shrug. "I mean, both of those sound cool to me, but I'm still trying to figure out who I am and stuff? You know?"

Should she feel like she was behind, with so little idea of what she wanted to do with her future?
