Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

So, the heat meant that many of the tables and chairs had been set up in the shade, and someone had found outdoor table umbrellas in blue and gold, god help us all. But hey, a little heat never hurt anyone who wasn't a vampire, right?

Ahem. The picnic was open for warm, sunny business.

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Jalian gave her a puzzled look. "An Earth, yes. Why?"

"Maybe this isn't a disaster," Peridot said, walking in a tight circle before pacing a little more. Then she stopped in her tracks. "Maybe this Earth is in the past, or it has a Homeworld warp! This is not a disaster..."

Could she repair her escape pod, perhaps? It had sustained damage in the landing, but that didn't mean it was hopeless...

That was punctuated with a flail of the arms for good measure, right there.

"It was okay when the island was moving around through space and the multiverse. That, I could handle. But Earth? Earth is way out of my league! I can't handle Earth!"

Jalian rolled her eyes. "Earth is easy. The males are mostly stupid, and nobody is trained to fight. Not many, anyway. You can stay on the island, too."

"No no no you don't understand," Peridot protested, her voice reaching all new pitches. "There are Gems on Earth, traitorous ones. Some kind of permafusion and at least two types of Quartz!"

Sorry, Pearl. You didn't even warrant a mention. You were a Pearl.

"And they're warriors. Traitors to Homeworld! They've gotten in my way, they crashed the ship, and they're the reason I'm still here."

Here, where the Cluster would come out of the Earth's crust any day now and shatter them all.

That really did seem impressively simple. Peridot blinked, and then tried a small smile on for size.

"Then... I... appreciate that."

It was really going to suck when the Earth exploded and killed them all, after this.
