BWI Airport Portalocity Lounge, Saturday morning

After missing a flight due to airport security feeling the need to wand over every single piercing she had, Negasonic was in a bit a mood. Then she saw the glittery banner welcoming all Fandom High students and the portalocity lounge.

Ugh. Glitter.

She dumped her duffel bag on the floor and slumped into a chair. Five seconds later she had her phone out to tweet about what a lousy flight experience she had and how little she was looking forward to going to a new school.

She immediately got a tweet back from Colossus. "Give it a chance."

Ugh. Optimism.

She slunk down in her chair a little farther and hoped the shuttle would get here soon so she could at least be going someplace.

Negasonic did not smile in return. Instead she squinted a little at the other girl in disbelief. Was she being serious?

"Yeah. School," she replied slowly. "No idea about the fair."

Margaery pouted, just for a moment. "Well, I'll just keep hoping there might be a fair. School alone sounds...like there shall be a lot of reading."

"Well maybe when they find out you're coming they'll roll out the red carpet, your highness," Negasonic replied. "And it's school. Yeah. Of course there'll be reading."

Man. What planet was this girl from?

"Lady Margaery is perfectly fine," she assured her, warmly. "I do like to read - I just hope it's not a dour, windowless sort of affair where we all must bend our backs over desks all day, you know?"

That earned Margaery a raised eyebrow.

"Yeah. Well. You can call me Negasonic," she replied slowly. "And if you don't like being bent over a desk maybe you're doing it wrong."

"My septas were more strict than some," Margaery admitted with a smile, shrugging. "Your education to this point has been more of a source of joy for you, Negasonic, rather than one of boredom? I must admit to some jealousy, if so."

She pronounced every syllable of the other girl's name carefully, worried she'd get it wrong. (Was she Nega of House Sonic? Did people here style themselves differently from the Westerosi? Margaery was kicking herself for not asking her father's maester for books about this place, if any were available.)

Septas? What the fuck is that?

"School is all right," she said with a shrug. "My last one was okay. You go to some private school or something?"

"I was educated at home," Margaery clarified, with a tone that suggested that of course she had been. "This is my first school, as such."

"As such," she repeated with a bit of a smirk. "So you really have no clue what you're getting into, do you?"

Margaery bristled a bit, her back straightening. "How do you mean?" she asked. "I am well prepared to do the boring reading, if that's what you mean."

"I'm sure you are," she replied with a shrug. "Have you ever had to deal with a bunch of idiotic teenagers sitting in the same room hour after hour?"

"Ah," Margaery said dryly, "so you, too, know the joys of learning needlework?"

Gods, she hated needlework.

"That means yes."

"Needlework? Fuck that," she said shaking her head in amazement. "Yeah. You'll blend here."
