"Hey," Ben said with a quick smile. "I know we've done a lot of talking at you over this summer, so I'm interested to know if there's anything you think you've learned about the weirdness of the island--if you're up to sharing of course, no pressure--or anything you're worried about with the newcomers showing up on Saturday. Who would you love to see? Who would make life complicated?"

"Is there any particular situation we haven't discussed yet that you'd like us to speak about?" Obi-Wan asked, spreading his arms. "There are rather a lot of them, I must say. Unfortunately."

Ben smiled ruefully. "The perils of the multiverse," he agreed. "For me, knowing my mother's here has made my life more complicated, so I can't imagine anyone else showing up that would make it worse."

"Your moth--" No, asking would probably be a terrible idea. "My own 'worst case' was here when I arrived," he said. "My old apprentice Anakin. We... had had our differences last time I saw him. It took time."

Ben smiled at Ahsoka ~~if she was there~~. "Yeah, I can imagine."

"Please," said Obi-Wan, spreading his arms. "Discuss."

It's shortish, but things are said.

Mabel scrunched up her nose a little as she considered that one. Her list, for once, didn't begin and end with 'the triangle.'

But she wasn't so certain she wanted to talk about Gideon, either. Gideon was an entirely different can of worms. Not even a literal one, for once.

Is there anything they've missed during this series of classes? And who would you fear meeting most at the welcome picnic next week?

"Well, Hondo could show up again," Ahsoka said dryly.

It was a safer (and not entirely dishonest) answer than some of the others she could think of.

Obi-Wan... sighed.

Very loudly.

Did he really need to say anything else?

No, no he did not.

"You ran into him too, then."

"Yes," Obi-Wan said wryly. "He definitely appears to... still be Hondo."

"Yes, he does." Right down to the mood shifts that only made sense to Hondo. "We're lucky the island wasn't on fire afterwards."

'The island' was the important phrase there, plenty of other things had been on fire.

"I suppose he felt it wasn't profitable enough for him," Obi-Wan said, "Which is a small blessing. Imagine Hondo running amock here for any amount of time."

Not enough here, more elsewhere. Something like that.

"You mean before or after he tried stealing everything that wasn't riveted down?"

"After, when he would tear up the island looking for something to undo the rivets with," Obi-Wan said dryly.

He's seated at the front of the class, and available for questions.
