Obi-Wan strode into the classroom with confidence, alone, at least for this week.

"Welcome," he said, "To this class on a rather particular kind of strangeness that this island will bring to you. As you may know, it is a nexus between various worlds, and... various times. Oftentimes, this simply means you'll encounter people from places you have never heard of. Sometimes, it gets rather more... complicated. Personally."

He cleared his throat. "My co-teacher, who is not available today for personal reasons, is the great-grandson of a dear friend of mine called Anakin Skywalker. You may have heard of him. He is also both the son and the grandfather of Fandom students past."

He let that sink in for a moment.

"As you can tell by this, the island can cause more than its fair share of strangeness in the family department," Obi-Wan said, smiling wryly. "You may find yourself waking up with children who claim to be yours. Or perhaps you'll run into a... problematic relative, who did something to you once, but they are younger than you remember and have not done whatever it is that troubles you. In this class, we hope to prepare you for some of these challenges." He cleared his throat. "My name is Obi-Wan Kenobi," he established. "The best way to begin preparing yourself for these headaches is to think of the worst," he said. "So I would like you all to give your name, class, and one situation in which meeting a relative - past, present or future - would be very awkward for you, or worse."

"Noooo way." So take that, Obi-Wan. "Sibling Rivalry is a lifelong commitment that takes nurturing and hard work. It's how we tell one another we care. I wouldn't get all excited about being slightly taller to just anybody. That would be weird."

She was the shorter twin, now that puberty had taken hold. It was tragically unfair.

"Right," said Obi-Wan, who was uncertain if this was entirely healthy ~~and unwilling to admit this was more or less his relationship with Anakin~~. "I suppose under those circumstances, it would be fairly awkward. How would you deal with it, you think?"

Mabel considered this carefully for a moment. You never knew when this would have to be a relevant strategy, after all.

"I suppose if I couldn't age myself up to match him, I'd have to get sneaky," she decided. "Maybe I'd hold it over him that I was born five minutes before he was and I still have my youthful good looks and charm. That could probably work. Unless he beat me to pointing out that he was older. Sibling rivalry is a careful kind of game, it requires strategy."

"And are there rules to this game...?"

Obi-Wan: not certain if he was amused or confused.

"Well, yeah," Mabel replied, blinking. "You don't want to hurt your sibling. We really do love each other. But they're all kind of unspoken rules. We're twins, we understand what they are anyway."

Because of awesome twin insight. Twinsight, if you will.

"We can be annoying, sure, but nothing that'll actually do any real harm. I'm not going to throw all of the times he totally failed to take a girl on a date back in his face or push him down the stairs or anything like that."

"And are you afraid this delicate twin balance will, perhaps, be thrown off if you run into a version of your brother older than you are?"

Okay, amused. Definitely amused.

"Well, yeah. I mean, I've had that five minutes on him our entire lives! Just imagine how much retribution Dipper would take for himself if he made up for that with entire years!"

He'd probably offer her baby food and little booties or something!
